Personal life stuff gets in the way of being objective about how animal collective just makes better music every time they make music.

I just don't like to ever throw around the word "perfect" in reference to music or any art form really

gee.. father time seems to be a hard sell in this forum. one of my favorite songs on the album, though, and love hearing it live. i love centipede hz as well. i believe it was you, above, who was talking about [i read it yesterday and don't fully remember] loving the most recent or current album/material the most. i have to say i completely agree with this. i love whatever they're currently working on the most. or at least i'm most excited about/by it.

Gosh my favorite will always be Spirit, theres just not a single thing I dont like about it. I seem to relate to it the most. Strawberry and Merriweather are tied for second, followed by Water Curses, Fall Be Kind, Feels, Centipede, Sung Tongs, ODDSAC, and the rest (I can't even decided which of the others I like less hah)

Feels is a masterpiece. that album is perfect. Had Panda Bear had a lead vocal track on this, it wouldn't even be up for discussion.

I'm surprised nobody has picked Fall Be Kind and that Indian only has 1 vote. Both seem to be pretty loved on this board. I haven't been here as long as some of y'all so I could be way off on this, but maybe the board seeming to get younger and younger has something to do with this.

would be cool if they released an album where they re did songs from other albums in the style of other albums. like when they played chocolate girl for mpp or purple bottle for chz. but this in a whole album form. guess it would hard to play new songs in an old format, but easier to play old songs in a new format.

the versions of winters love, wcwar and leaf house that they were doing in the sj/mpp tours owned. the bbc sessions for those jams rock but but i agree that it'd be awesome to have them in some sort of release. they always talk about how they record all of their shows, though. it'd be nice to get some more crackbox releases with material like that.

If childhood had a soundtrack , it would be spirit they're gone , spirit they've vanished.

It is close to near perfection and no question its a masterpiece. Not sure how they did it , but thank the good lord that they did do it. Spirit is what started it all !

I still feel like Danse Manatee is their most singular and unique work. Like there's other music that gives me Spirit or HCTI vibes but DM is sort of alien, like how I feel when listening to The Residents or something.

I don't know what it is, but just something about the cinematic quality, the strength of the songwriting, the key changes, the sonic landscape and the production of Fall Be Kind kills me every time, and I wish Merriweather was more like it. I could listen to both of them any day, but FBK is just too rad for me.

i agree, i relistened to FBK recently after a long time not hearing and it was really cinematic and beautiful and better than i remembered. also i think prospect hummer wins for prettiest AC release

colin i think you're tied with stanshall for most controversial poster and i like you even though you tried to punk me in the chz thread for saying i dont like that album
