The Deakster

From his facebook: I am thrilled today to announce that Domino Records will be re-releasing a remastered Sleep Cycle on digital, vinyl and CD as well as making cassettes available for online purchase. Pre orders start today for the October 4th release date. I am also honored to have had my friend Brian DeGraw of Gang Gang Dance make an amazing video for Golden Chords. Go check it out! Thank you to everyone who has told me over the last few years how much this record has meant to them.

Edit: I'm an old person who can't internet. How do I link the vid correctly?
Edit edit: thanks roopn

sleep cycle does nothing for me, but that's a fun little video!! reminds me of the work bruce bickford did with zappa in the 70's...

bedeegee posted in progress shots back around sleep cycle release on instagram, we knew it was in the works but it never got released until now. Stop motion takes so much time and he might have not had it ready for the digital release so this makes sense to put it out as promo for the LP/CD

Remastered? Up for this. Golden Chords and Good House are incredible, the rest are good to great.

My biggest complaint with Sleep Cycle was the production, so I'm very excited to listen again tonight!

Havent listened yet but I got a bandcamp message from Deakin where it said the remaster does not sound all that different. I think he sent the message out to anyone who bought the original release on bandcamp to advise ppl not to shell out for the new version just because it’s remastered

Yeah remaster =/= different mix. Presumably they just fixed some spots where certain frequencies were sticking out

for those of you who have already purchased it, the differences are far too subtle for you to worry that your version is lesser. both sound great!

Amazing video! Might be my favorite one from the band, or at least tied with WCWAR.

Wax has been collecting dust on the shelf waiting for the right tonight. Windows open mixing sounds of rain is about as perfect as it gets. Forgot how powerful of a deep cleanse therapy session the Deak Deaked.
