i don't have any ability to post a HQ rip myself, otherwise i would love to help you out. hopefully someone comes through soon.
also, just since there was some question before, the blown out quality of some bass and synths is still there as was originally intended. i'm just talking about the overall experience of the sound of this release.
V glad to hear the record sounds great, didn't doubt
Tracking says Tues arrival, but found a local record store via the website that has a copy. Gonna call in the morning to see if it's still there and might just buy it just cuz I don't think I can make it thru the long weekend without a copy lol. Unless someone actually posts a decent rip, dammit
This is exactly me. If there's a hard copy in stock tomorrow, I don't know if I can resist it. If that happens, I'm happy to ship my Domino copy to someone on CA who needs one.
I don't know why it took me this long to realize that we got pushed out to Tuesday because Monday is a holiday for the USPS. Love/hate relationship with this holiday this year.
Yeah exactly, I totally forgot about MLK jr day. Also my tracking page now has a warning that weather conditions may further delay shipments
I'm also pissed because I 100% would've made a decent quality rip today if I had the record, I don't have the nicest turntable setup but it would've at least sounded better than the one that's been going around

Ya turns out after I listen to all 3 (vinyl, my rips, the existing rip) both rips are shitty in their own ways. I don't have adequate hardware to improve the quality, so someone with specialization in this stuff will have to be generous
I do wish the production wasn't made to sound "too loud" or blown out, but that specific effect isn't on panda's vocals. Probably meant to be listening to the vocals and words more than anything else?
This record is so weird. It seems like this half-assed thing that has way more potential because it's just crunchy beats with Panda's vocals.
To me it seems objectively average, but I love the AC boys and so much of it is so catchy. Can't get Flight out of my head, Sunset has a gorgeous vocal melody, and Part of the Math is sort of a mad banger when it kicks in.
Not only that, but they're complaining about the rawness of the sound lmao.
You knuckleheads have been bitchin about that for a while now, and finally here it is...

Not sure who this is directed at, most of the feedback on this board seems really positive though. Personally, I’ve never hoped for a sound this raw. When I read Panda’s explanation about how the record would sound I had very low expectations, but I’ve been surprised with how I’ve somewhat dug this EP.
A nice EP, but I’m glad it’s not a full album and I doubt it’ll stick with me for too long. Keen to see what the boys come up with next.
Having been lucky enough to witness shows like this live, https://youtu.be/PKU8MF7jztY?t=1517 and have those boots for dedicated remastering people to play with for us, we're gonna be fine with this vinyl! this can finally sit side by side Call Home (buy grapes) for that really sun-dried, roasted-speaker sound we sometimes like to pair with a side of soft brie and pâté
On an unrelated note for nerds, heres a comparison of various artists vinyl's being played on the same phonograph so you can determine for yourself how much is too much crunch.

Attn everyone, don't post a reply asking for a PM, just PM someone directly and ask for a link. You can crunchitize me. Too many posts asking for links clutters the thread
For sure there are Eric Copeland vibes on this, not just Goofballs but all of his last couple albums that are heavy on the beats

On the subject of people not liking it - so what? I love it but I'm happy enough to read about someone who doesn't and I can explain why I do in return. It doesn't in the slightest affect my feelings about it. It's something I do find a bit frustrating about this place sometimes - many people are very quick to shut down any negative opinions. It makes me suspicious - are they suffering a bit of cognitive dissonance because they suspect it's not quite as perfect as they would like to claim?
Be GRATEFUL for the gift our dear Lords have bestowed, etc.
It's all good. Appreciate what you got. Don't question, you fuckin serfs. Mooooooopppp.
FUCK OFFFFFFFFFF
If you think it sounds shite, feel free to say, just as I and many others have said we really like it.
Totally, discussion is great, insightful critical analysis...music hits people in all sorts of different ways and it's good to talk about it
Just don't be that guy who complains the same complaint for literally 3 years, sucking all the oxygen out of the discussion for everyone else who is feeling positive.
It's not the voicing of negative opinion that sucks, it's the self-righteous attitude that's wearing....
Cos that sucks
I thought Greaper was one of the best AC related albums, and whle first impressions of this aren't as good as that, I feel positive about it, like I do most of Panda's music. It's great to follow an artist's career, through highs and not-so-highs, and to appreciate the experiments and failures as well as the successes.
I really dig this EP! Personally I think it's the best studio Panda stuff since the Tomboy singles. Hope he changes his mind later on and releases it digitally though.
has anyone else tried entering the addresses on the back side of the sleeve? I've tried a couple of the links but I keep getting a FILE NOT FOUND error
I'll be waiting along with all the other tuesday delivery people.... ugh, kinda lame but its also fine, this record came out of nowhere so quickly that its honestly nice to see hype get stretched out. like i got this decent rip, but sitll have 4 days til pure wax goodness
good timing on this in general, i like when new LPs/EPs come out by people for the sake of the last thing they did... it sets pbvsgr into relief at a time when some of those songs had gotten a bit stale/overplayed for me (just the album bangers, the EP tracks always stayed fresh)... so with that LP and EPs, we had these big, bright, geometric, sharp right-angle sounding music, and this is like a slightly 'rawer' expansion of that, so that the recording kinda has the vibe of pbvsgr bootlegs almost... which seems like exactly what would-be naysayers could have wanted after that album....
im pretty sure like the melodies/structures/singing on this even more than pbvsgr tho... Like I'm not huge into Flights, but the feel, structure and development is a lot more interesting than, say, Mr Noah or BBCM, tho i love those too. and i feel like he's being a little more expressive and even relaxed with his delivery, he sounds more like ...."vulnerable"(?) on sunset than anything i can think of save like Preakness maybe...and its great (i mostly mean those like 1 or 2 falsetto notes)
I wonder if I prefer him as an EP guy... that ZBD live ep is great after all.
Also, I totally agree with stan's take that each song is better than the last one, which is a weird but cool structure. Nod/Sunset is the closest i've felt to panda's vibe since selfish gene/nadir or alsatian darn.

Omg tracking updated to say my copy is out for delivery, fuck yes
Same!!! Hyped!!
This is very much not my situation (still says Tuesday!) so I just wasted more minutes than I care to admit searching the words “Play Bouy” (sans present progressive “s”) in You Tube.
Excellent results. Highly recommend.
USPS, Please send my album soon so I can make better choices with my time....

yeah, exactly. you can hear it in how he says "a euro on the ground," and "a perfect way to go." it's like he's letting his guard down vocally. I miss that side of him, I feel like it sort of "went into hiding" after merriweather. it's like hearing the noah who sang on campfire songs and young prayer come back. miss that guy
^i feel like it most likely isnt, but i am having trouble parsing what 'good crew' is like a metaphor for if its not about wanting to leave... a band? idk. panda-less ac would be kinda sad, unless it was a rostam type set up or something... but i guess it is feasible. and if he did do it he probably would want a song that addresses it...
can't say that thought didn't cross my mind but he says "can't say goodbye...won't say goodbye to you" so i think it's all good. feels more in tone with Bros.
was pleasantly surprised to open my front door and see a special package waiting for me that was supposed to arrive Tuesday. time to spin it
At the end of Sunset, when Panda sings," Too late / It's a black out / Anyways" I completely accept that he is singing "anyways" but every time I hear it, it sounds exactly like, "It's a black out in the west"
