Any good shots of their recent live setup? Curious to know what gear they're using this time around.

Can only make out Noah's octatrack and OP-1 and some modular stuff next to Geo.

It's really good

also love how spacey they get on some of the irving plaza boot transitions, especially before and after On Delay.... and I really love how Loch Raven has become the new my girls

Just go see this show. Everybody on the fence or worried about money, it's fucking worth it. Best I've seen them sound and play since 2006. There's too much to say. Just eat an edible and let your mind go.

Does anyone have any good photos of the stage set-up with those awesome faces? They didn't come out looking so great on my phone.

Also, are we assuming Jimmy Mack is one of the two extras from PW that don't have a release scheduled yet? If so, hopefully it means they'll be playing the other sometime on the tour as well!

Edit: didn't realize Jimmy Mack was a cover. Very cool anyway!

I got a few vids that came out pretty good that I can post if people are interested. I snagged all of Loch Raven, and some of Golden Girls and Alvin Row.

They just announced that Eric Copeland is opening some shows in Sept & Oct. Not sure which ones, I think you just have to click the ticket links and check the lineup for each show: http://www.myanimalhome.net/#/tour

I've been hoping they'll come to australia sometime in december/january. Is that likely?

If they do I hope it's more than just festival dates

Here's a fun translated tweet:

"What happened to the Taku Inoue had a DJ in chalan while watching SAVEGES and Animal collective... Underwear smeared with alcohol."
also..
"Best Kinky Sound"
"Whats so scary is the world of animal collective, shivering and shaking"

"animal collective was insanely polished I watched a few years! Popped while leaving the bad feelings of inborn is or rather increasing the trim. After alternately sings Avey and Panda's so cute. A hentai selling thanks for playing music, I'm happy. I go about my life!"

There's some clips of Kids on Holiday and Loch Ravin' (which is what I'm calling this version of Loch Raven from now on). No surprises yet

Darn, I'm going to be dissappointed if the only thing they're doing differently this time is adding Kids on Holiday.

Not that I can make it to any of their shows, I was just hoping we'd get another live release with mostly different sets.

I wonder if they kept to their usual set because this is a festival. I'm going to see them in Eugene right after Camping With - so I'm guessing if they are in fact going to change up the setlist, it would happen at/after Camping With.

Regardless, I really hope to see Kids On Holiday.

Yeah hopefully they're just waiting for a regular headlining show to debut new (old) songs. Avey said a while ago that they'd have a new setlist for this leg of the tour

I agree ^
Spoiler: show
but the no encore makes the format a little unpredictable

I dislike floridada as closer though- I know its being used as the brother sport of this era,
but depending on where it sits in the setlist.. it's usually my filler tune (as in go get a beer, use the bathroom, leave early)

leaving early is a bit stiff, but I'll agree that for some reason it's just not very exciting. especially as a closer

that's a very specific situation though.. if it's the closer on an encore, and having been to so many shows I know what i'm gonna get and would rather beat the exit traffic to the merch booth

fwiw I'm usually the last one on the floor

I was at the Tokyo show, a little disappointed there were no surprises in the setlist, but otherwise it was amazing. Despite the no encore they played for over 90 minutes which is great for a festival.

Funniest part was the band screwing up in the middle of Floridada and having to start again. I think Jeremy's monitor cut out and he, avey and panda were all out of sync with each other. But they handled it well, there was no break in the music, instead winding it down and kicking back into the first verse, all without talking to each other, I was impressed.
Also I disagree that Floridada is bad live, it got the crowd moving more than any other song (Japanese crowds being generally quite calm). My highlights were probably the more mellow parts tho, namely Bees.

Hey i was there! Was my first time seeing them live. I was super stoked. Was right at the front but had to lose my spot as my bladder was about to burst.

Yeah the recovery from Floridada was fucking smooth. And it was epic live. Did not expect that. My favourite bit was most definitely Loch Raven and Daily Routine. The former was electrified and the driving bass kick and Jeremy's drumming really lifted it onto becoming quite a banging dance-y song. And Daily Routine sent chills down my spine with its extended second half. Love the way Panda drags the "just aaaaaaaaaaaa.... signal" bit.

I had a small glimmer of hope for Fireworks or Brothersport but I guess that would be too much of a wishful thinking lol. And Japanese crowd was really quite static and calm... as expected.

Yes! It does seem like if there are more songs they have worked on to play, they would not want to reveal all of them before the camping weekend!

It may not be more than one or two others yet each song they have is deeply complete and everchangingly special ; not meaning to write too fluffy although too fluffy is fine really! I guess another way to say it is that each song is very layered musically, emotionally, perceptually, and each one grows and changes over time in ways that are still rare for musicians' work to genuinely do! They write and play them with room to grow and for all of the layers to move and change both to themselves and anyone experiencing them!!
