I loved the early-era reworks from the mpp tours. I really hope they continue to do spirit-through-indian reworks on the next tour

gotta say I'm pleasantly surprised by all the Phish positivity in this thread... When I was like 14 I had a big jam band phase and I was sooo into Phish, which is funny cuz I didn't even smoke weed yet. Nowadays I could take em or leave em but they still hold a special place in my heart, they were some of the first 'weird' music I listened to & really fell in love with. I think they can be easily misunderstood or written off as dirty hippies or w/e. yeah the 30-min guitar solos can get obnoxious but u could say the same thing about AC's 20-minute Fireworks jams couldn't u? And I think there's something to be said about artists that can inspire such rabid fandomFovrodi wrote:I could be alone but it's uncanny how much Strange Colores sounds like this Phish song (8:10 in)Spoiler: show
damn this makes me wanna listen to Junta. David Bowie is a jam
It bums me out when people say they've "out grown" phish. I'm almost 30 and have been seeing them since high school. If you're there to do molly it's one thing. But there's a whole nerd fan base who chase songs, know stats for their entire career. Not to mention, they're currently the only band who can hold a festival just to see the same band for 13+ hours over 3 days. Each time gets better and better. When the four of them really settle into a jam it's live art.
Having said that I had a blast at magnaball with my closest homies all near 30. We do the adult thing pretty well so far and still get down with a 30min jam when ever we get the chance.

I only know Phish through the Analyse Phish podcast but I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the tunes. I think it's probably terrible context to listen to them as well, with Harris skipping through songs so much and with all the comic interruptions. I'll get into them one day I'm sure. The spacey stuff is much more up my street than the bluesy riffing but I get where they're coming from. It's kind of an American take on Neu and Can, in places.

I'd really like to know what AC think of this development, lol

On the studio version of wwiws, PB sings and samples drums. On the live version, he samples his voice and plays live drums... whoa

I love this new store on the website. I picked up Hollin and the STGSTV/Danse comp that Rusty remastered. I'm really looking forward to hearing what the remasters he did sound like compared to the originals

i got my poster today, just FYI to those who also got one. from the return address it looks like they were sent from domino's brooklyn office which is why i got mine today as i also live there. they didn't send out a shipping notice or anything so i guess just look out for that TUBE if you got the email about getting the poster!!

I got my boxset today and it sounds great, but there are tears on all the stickers. Looks like a botched hole-punching job. I emailed them about a replacement or refund, I'm yet to see what the outcome will be.
Here are pics of the tears:

mine came today too. sounds great, except that the D side has a lot of pops, especially during the pulleys part. im guessing it would be remedied by a liquid clean, but i dont have anything to do that with. hopefully will get some solution and one of those cleaner things soon.
i'd say about half of my labels have tears like that on them, maybe a little less bad. can't imagine they're going to replace or refund anything for that, though. seems pretty minor. was really relieved the whole box came without any damage. i got 1847/2000.

Damn. That's disappointing. On side C the vinyl is actually sticking out so maybe that's worth something. I got 1669/2000.

hey, im no expert. maybe they have great customer service and will.
normally if something like that happens with a record i buy, where the hole is tight and there's vinyl "dust" or whatever left, i just brush it off. if the record still plays without any wobble or noise distortion from it, then that's what's most important.

True. Although the sticking-out-bit of vinyl is actually connected to it. I'd have to break it off to get rid of it. But yeah, if it plays nicely then that's really what matters.

Labels are usually pretty good at replacing defects if they affect play (if this is the case I'd maybe attach a video or something highlighting the issue, that has helped in my experience at least) but unfortunately it is a pretty common (and minor) problem, hopefully your copy plays through okay!

I got 764/2000, which seems lower than most on the board.

I'm kinda surprised they didn't give lower numbers for the first pre-orders.

They could have already sent out some before even posting the preorder

I think it's just random tbh. I was in one of the first 100 orders and got a pretty high number. Not a big deal, they're all from the same pressing.

It seems like everyone keeps saying this is a soundboard recording, and I'm 99% sure it's not. The mix would be much more dry with no room noise and minimal audience noise. These recordings were made by matched pair condenser mics. Would bet my life on it.

1631. Couldn't be happier that I waited for the wax to listen. Brings back so many great memories from that tour and everything surrounding it. Going to be on repeat for the next couple weeks!
EDIT: I do have to say that this version of Purple Bottle doesn't hit as hard for me compared to the Bonnaroo 2013 performance, which has been my go-to for the past 2 years. While the fidelity is easily trumped, the Roo one sounds so much more unhinged and wild.
