it's all relative I suppose haha
I was at all 3 (2) 9:30 club shows that week, so maybe it's just like going to the Grand Canyon versus looking at pictures of your trip haha
that being said, I agree with you, perfect sound & sweet setlist....

I thought only the first 100 came with a poster?

The first 100 come with an original poster from the show. It's the same but black with white print and it's rolled up and shipped in a tube. Everyone gets a folded up one (probably smaller and thinner) in the box set

Ahh, that makes sense. Well now I'm even more excited knowing that I'll still get a poster. Thanks.

Definitely one of their most jam-ey and free-form tours yet. If their jamming caliber ever got to the level of phish, I'd cream my jeans

Coming out of a long posting retirement.
Long live AC indeed. The moment after peacebone before the encore made me choke up a bit. Everyone's showing them so much love and someone yells, "Play forever!" Aveys like "Play forever?" Everyone keeps cheering and I'm pretty sure someone shouts "You guys are great!!!" Seemed to me like the guy wasn't talking about the show but about them making music forever and I think avey heard it that way. It was really heartwarming and communal.
This set is really great, especially the jams. That ending of NTB/transition into I think I can is amazing as are like a dozen other moments. Love the breathing room and willingness to go "out there" again. That part put a big smile on my face. "You wanna just go out there?"
Part of me wonders if some of these jams and transitions aren't a taste of what we can expect from the new album. Like not the same music but some parts are the most out of their comfort zone they've seemed in awhile to me in the best way possible. I know this was two years ago but it seems unlikely they would play with such spaced out, trancey vibes and not end up having them on the new album. Makes even more sense when you think about new psycho actives vol. 1. So fucking excited btw, whether those assumptions are right or not. I would be equally stoked on something super chaotic and noisy or something really really dancey (like making merriweather look like ambient music dancey). An announcement can't come soon enough.

Well put, I feel p much the same. They really stretched out in this set and maxed out the dynamic contrasts between the quiet and loud parts. Would be totally thrilled to hear something really spacey and droney but I'm open to whatever they decide to throw at us next

We are blessed to have this up for free to stream on YouTube and checked it out.
Yes it is all the hype and once again cannot believe the amount of goodness we have been provided by the greatest band In the world. So lucky to have this all at our fingertips. So greatful for this and life and all the more to come. This is amazing and wanted to say just how happy i am not just because i have hears this , but given the opportunity to. And life is great. Just having another one of those praise the lord moments. I conclude. Thank you AC.

Man, I gotta check these Phish guys out. I had no idea they sounded similar to Animal Collective.

I wouldn't really say they sound all that similar at all but they're great nonetheless. They're probably just comparing the 'jam' sound of Live at 9:30 to how Phish is known for jamming out when playing live.

Got me feeling a little emotional. I concur. If I'm feeling down or lost in life I can just put on Anco and everything feels better. Like a boost of hope. Both because I aspire to be as successful as they are and because I have a lot of memories and love put into their music. There is no one quite like Anco, and I am grateful that they continue to provide us with wonderful sounds to fill our lives with.

Love both these bands equally and for different reasons. Mostly it's the groups of friends I have that I attend respective shows with. They have similar fan bases, each one pines for every live bootleg they can get their hands on, etc. The message boards between the bands is pretty similar too.
Phish has also recorded every show they're ever played, almost 32 years worth. So here's to hoping that AC puts out a big archive of shows for us.

this is like a stupidly good setlist/show but i cant help but think about another release like this featuring a 07-09 show where they play all the new mpp stuff, hopefully from a beach and also lablakely/essplode --> fireworks super climax of course. that was my first live era as a fan and those vibes are so freakin good... like this era but different...

gotta say I'm pleasantly surprised by all the Phish positivity in this thread... When I was like 14 I had a big jam band phase and I was sooo into Phish, which is funny cuz I didn't even smoke weed yet. Nowadays I could take em or leave em but they still hold a special place in my heart, they were some of the first 'weird' music I listened to & really fell in love with. I think they can be easily misunderstood or written off as dirty hippies or w/e. yeah the 30-min guitar solos can get obnoxious but u could say the same thing about AC's 20-minute Fireworks jams couldn't u? And I think there's something to be said about artists that can inspire such rabid fandom
damn this makes me wanna listen to Junta. David Bowie is a jam

Kinda funny that this thread took a turn into phishy waters, but I ain't complaining. Even though the music is fairly different, both are amazing studio bands and even better live preformers. When each band is on, they are ON and the energy is undeniable. At these moments, as an audience member, you will totally get why people travel across the country to see these bands. They're both excellent at exploring different sonic environments and transporting the listener to another place especially with their more spacey, dark sounds
If ya'll are not sure where to start, here are some spacey phish jams for AC fans who are digging this Live at 9:30 release:

seems like there were more awesome reworks/different takes during that era than any other time: leaf house, wcwar, winters love, slippi, hey light, chocolate girl, essplode, lablakely dress, doggy, grass, comfy in nautica, og taste.
I know they didn't play all of those during the same timeframe from 07-09 so it would be impossible to ever get a live soundboard recording with all of those, but it's just nuts to look at how many of their songs they reworked during that era- about an album's worth
