I don't know if any of you guys will also be attending the Seattle show tonight, but I'll be! If anyone recognizes me and wants to talk about CA and how beautiful it is, I'm wearing this:
Spoiler: show
Image
Black Radiohead shirt and black skinny jeans. Glasses. Very pale.
Edit: I'm also wearing a grey jacket. Plain grey, nothing on it.

I'm also going to the portland show tomorrow

does anyone know if eyvind and jessica kenney are playing together, or are they two separate openers?

i'm going to the seattle show too. me and nbp are carpooling together. i'm guessing that because the doors open at 7:00 and the show is at 8:00 (small window), they will play together.

i'll be wearing my old reverend green shirt

edit: we arrived at the same time as eyvind and jessica, they said they're playing together

Second song was hounds right?

Man that show was so good! I always have high expectations for them and they always exceed them. Sweet road and pride and fight and that summertime clothes! Also I was totally convinced that taste was gonna be the burglars

I looked for you guys but got there kinda late and it was already packed! Hope you had a good show too!

That was amazing. I moshed a couple times, had my arm around tsurimin during Daily Routine, screamed along with FloriDada (interesting choice for an opener, Abby!)
People were really nice. There was a cute girl that looked like Ramona from Scott Pilgrim that I wish I could've talked to. Wasn't dancing so much; she was there for music.

I really like the aesthetic AC fans have. While waiting outside, you could easily see someone dressed a certain way, and figure out they're there to see Animal Collective before they actually got in line. I don't feel bad about my Radiohead shirt, since I saw like 10 band shirts with names that weren't Animal Collective on them.
You guys are the best community.
If anyone heard someone scream "I LOVE YOU HEADLAMP BOY", that was me.

About Taste: Avey was definitely giving the no-go signal to Geo and Jeremy. He looked so exhausted. Maybe his throat was hurting or something, I don't know, but they tried getting into The Burglars and Avey couldn't do it.

wowowowow

shouts to the guy in the patterned polo dancing up a storm. and everyone else dancing on the floor with me too. avey seemed like he had so much fun. he was smiling wide the whole time. i think they were going to play burglars but avey said something to jeremy and seemed a little sulken for a moment, some kind of sound issue. it's good that he was able to find his groove again after that though. i think my favorite part was summertime clothes. everyone around me got fucked up by that song. so much dancing.

me and nbp were looking for those of you who were there but we gave up after some time

oh and eyvind kang and jessika kenney were amazing. totally lost in prayer during their set

Whoa they def didn't do Burglars? They sub something in or go straight to the following song?
Closing with Daily Routine is hella bold

They started on burglars for sure, but it stayed instrumental and was like a super extended intro to taste, it was actually kind of awesome

I love dancing and this show was the best for it, biggest surprise was how much fun dancing to peacemaker would be. Quantizing music with the body is one of my most favorite feelings in the entire world.

And yeah its not just bold to close with daily routine, but with summertime clothes beforehand, like the crowd fucking exploded for that. This was seriously such a good set list, starting out with Florida's got everyone on board right away and it just never let up. Tho I still rly don't get this new bees

If it's like they did it at Brooklyn Steel it seems like they combined New Loch Raven and Bees with the whole ravey vibe. Shoulda just kept loch raven and ditched Bees bc at least loch raven has the build.

I love the long gap in Summertime Clothes. Avey sang "don't cool off..." and everyone made odd, but cool noises for 90 seconds or so. When this faded out, I thought "is he going to sing 'I like your warmth' like nothing ever happened?" And that's exactly what he did. I laughed out loud when that happened.

Same. That was such a playful moment on their part, and it made the second half of the song kick in nicely.

Overall, I really enjoyed this show. I never thought I would get to see Sweet Road, and ending on Daily Routine felt right. I loved how quiet the venue got toward the end of the performance.

11th time i seen them and it was definitely one of the best. definitely better set than the tour they did last year with the setup.

they had some gear issue and couldn't do burglars but it was fine, that song doesn't really fit the vibe. it was fun seeing them have to improvize around it, quite a treat actually.

hands down the best rendition of daily routine ever. when the instruments swell up around pandas solo voice. true beauty.

stoked to see people hyped but the pit turned into a fucking buff bro jock fest. not everything has to be a seahawks game ya'll. its cool to be mellow too.

opener was won of the most special things i've seen. sorry if anyone missed it. could have been life changing for you. made some folks uncomfortable. they decided to yell back at the performers why? new emotions they haven't felt. not what they signed up for. that's good.

Definitely one of the standouts from last night/their set of revamps. My two cents: There's something in the harsher vocals in Sweet Road and Kids that completely changes the vibes for both. I always thought their original versions were bright and bubbly and childlike. These revamps are darker (or more somber?) in a great way.

That was amazing! During the gaps when Panda wasn't singing, you could've heard a pin drop. That demonstrates how much power the band had.

Missoula show Wednesday was incredible. Incredible! Feel like the band is on the verge of something huge (with the evolution of their totally inimitable sound, I mean).

Only positive on the order of the first few and last couple songs (below) because most of it was a beautiful blur! Thank you Animal Collective! Blessed to have witnessed that on planet Earth.

Kinda Bonkers
Kids on Holiday
Lying in the Grass
Peacemaker
On Delay
Daily Routine
Bees
Taste
The Burglars
Summing the Wretch
Sweet Road
Pride and Fight
Guys Eyes
Water Curses

Saw Animal Collective with my wife last night in Portland! It was an incredible show, they sounded so on point and tight! My wife isn't really that big on Animal Collective, but this was her first time seeing them live, and even she was amazed, and kept asking me how in the world do they what they do and make it all work. I was so happy she enjoyed it, also helped that we were on a generous amount of Sass, which was perfect for the show. Pride and fight was so intense live when it climaxes into that big explosion, I was gripping my shorts for my dear life! They played a lot of old stuff, which I was so happy to hear. Also their merch was on game this time. I got a really amazing tank top with the letter A on the front and C on the back entirely made up of a whole medley of different animals. Also got this really beautiful red white and blue psychedelic T-shirt of theres, where the print takes up the whole shirt. I'm so glad that as I get older, I can still enjoy, with joy and wonder, their music. I was worried that the music was something that would only resonate with me when I was young, but I still take so much delight in their beautiful absurdity!

The Portland show was great! Pride and Fight was a miracle, and Kinda Bonkers was really special too. I didn't realize Avey is literally smacking his throat with his hand to create the vocal effect during Pride and Fight, I wonder if that hurts doing it night after night

I also got the AC tank! Such a great design and it feels so comfy to wear

Portland was great. I can't believe I got to see them 3 times this cycle. (PDX, Eugene, PDX again) And out of all of those shows, the only songs I haven't seen them do are Vertical and Bagels - which happen to be my two least favorite from Painting With, hah. So I think I've fared really well!

I'm not sure on the order at all, but here's what they played last night in Portland:

Hounds of Bairro
On Delay
Hocus Pocus
Pride and Fight
Sweet Road
Taste
The Burglars
Guys Eyes
Bees
Summing the Wretch
Peacemaker
Summertime Clothes
Kinda Bonkers
FloriDada

Portland show was amazing!! What a way to wrap up the tour - even better then when I saw them in Eugene. I went alone and was able to meet a some pretty cool folks as well which is always nice despite the fact that I will probably never see them again.

Now I just have to wait until I see them again...

Yeah, I got to see them three times at all those same shows. I went from living somewhere where I never really got to see them unless I drove a ways, to seeing them three times within the span of a year.

The Seattle show was pretty interesting. Was nice to finally see the band live, as I had only seen them DJ at WWU back in 2015, and man their visuals were just so on point. Loved the setlist, especially ending with Daily Routine. I got a funny video clip that's just Panda yelling that one note for a sustained 17 seconds while everyone in the crowd goes nuts. So awesome along with that fakeout in Summertime clothes, just wished they did Alvin Row like they did at most of the other recent shows. And yeah, it was lame that so many people were talking over the opening band and I heard a lot of people just straight up saying "this sucks." Like give them a chance first.

It was so cool to meet the band too. Panda was was more Ernest than I ever imagined. Both in the emotional sense, and as in the character by Jim Varney. Like, his mannerisms were so folksy and cute.
