Yeah that one is fantastic. I heard it at its debut in toronto and immediately latched on to that classic speaky singy type delivery and how genuine the lyrics sounded. im excited to see how he develops it and hope he doesnt let go of the "and they were some friends id never see again" line!

Anyone going to the Woodstock show who can record? Was very excited when I saw it announced but I'll be traveling and can't make it.

Jealous of everyone going to this tour, was hoping to make the Pittsburgh date but had a scheduling conflict. Need to hear this EP!

Hey friends, for those who went to any of the most recent shows, was Avey playing last?
Edit: looks like hes going on at ~9:15

Sweet tour! Never thought I would ever get the chance to hear
live but last night made that happen. Vocal abilities are still unmatched and the new material is sounding great. Got myself a copy of the Sunflower split tape and had Avey sign it

excited to give it a listen.
Also, I think I am a Woods fan now, those guys are pretty great. Got some hints of Wayne Coyne and Jerry Garcia in their sound.

Maybe it was because of the venue, but this was the biggest sound I’ve ever heard Dave achieve. There was even distortion during a new number that was a very intense MBV-esque show of sound .
As for La Rapet, I just don’t think the proggy songs work with this sort of karaoke minimal techno sound. Great song and wonderful vocals, just not enough jazz in the arrangement. Taken Boy is a great ballad, and I love to hear it stripped down like that. Oliver Twist is an all timer and fits perfectly here.

this is what i hoped for in boston so i arrived at the venue around 8:35.
he went on at 8 or 8:15 and i only caught his last 3 songs. didn't have a choice as i was traveling all day and got there as soon as possible but god damn it was disappointing to walk in and hear him playing.

Yeaaa. I missed his show at the empty bottle but I saw him at that fest on Division the next day. Man of oil was soo good but it looked and sounded like he was having trouble with matching the guitar part's key to the sample or something like that, still glad I got to see it and he sang it really well but rip lol.
