Would love to swap Ferry Lady for 50mg, but I'm not complaining. Great set. The "almost got me, almost got me" part of Song for Ariel is so fucking good.

With and without Animal Collective, Lennox has been both warping his voice and improvising onstage for longer than Tiny Desk Concerts have existed; the rules that give the format its stripped-down intimacy—no vocal processing, relatively low volume, modest setups—spooked him. "“Any sort of unknown thing, unknown environment, I freak out about. I’m not a big fan of TV shows, radio sessions,” he admits later, then pauses, brow cocked. “But I don’t like to feel like I’m avoiding something because I’m scared, either. I’ll get real competitive with myself if I’m scared to do something.”"

Only seen a couple other videos of the band performing. How stripped back is everyone else's gear? Thought Rivka and/or Maria also had keyboards or do they really just operate one machine live?

Wonderful set. I adore this album.

Probably no surprise to anyone here that I've been diagnosed with autism and ADHD as an old c*** (44) but I think it'd influenced my relationship with AC over the years, in terms of rigidity and fulfilled/unfulfilled expectations and stuff. I love this band so much, and this forum, and the opportunity to discuss/proselytise how I feel about the band. Then Internet is changing, it's changed so much, and I'll be forever grateful for what we've been able to share here in such an open and intimate venue.

Sending lots of love to you all. I didn't tell anyone else about this shit apart from my wife and best mates because...well, because...

X

We've missed you Stan buddy

congrats Stan and glad you feel comfortable to share that here.

I am undiagnosed but have twigged for a while that my brain is working a little differently from a lot of people around me. I always felt seen by AC and PB's music in this way, a certain kinship in emotional experience and expression. I think a lot of fans feel the music speaking in that zone and it's a really valuable connection to have to a piece of art, and a natural starting point for a community like this to come into being. lots of love

maybe rivka has an additional keyboard in the full setup but I'm not sure. as far as I can tell the tiny desk arrangements are no different to normal, they just played just quieter.

Only difference i noticed in the tiny desk is no pedals. I think Tim uses a bass boost that comes in hard during the new parts of song for ariel. And noah doesnt seem to be using his chroma console or infinite jets for it either.
