has anyone looked into Lonnie Holley who is opening for most of the US dates? just listened to some of his stuff and was into it but also surprised that he's their opener in some ways. what do you all think?

Idk anything about him but I remember seeing this vid of him and Avey jammin with Bradford Cox on drums. Lonnie also showed up on Bradford's Instagram story last week so they must be buds
Spoiler: show

sounds like the guy who did the donkey kong 64 rap

Just listen to this and you'll love him forever

Sucks that the DC show is at Lincoln Theatre, tickets are super overpriced for that venue...after fees it’ll be like 80 bucks a ticket, no thanks... love the idea of them touring this though..

i'm guessing it'll be well worth traveling to the venue box office friday morning; absolutely something i'll be doing for the chicago show (i'm not losing out on this like i did for their empty bottle show last year!), to avoid the perils of trying to get tickets online. this would be a great show to see, especially if you've been around long enough to wish a sung tongs tour would happen again.

I went to an exhibit at a museum in SF that showcased Lonnie Holley's sculptures last summer, I remember hearing his music from the adjacent room and it reminded me a lot of AC. so the choice makes sense to me

I got a GA ticket for this show. It was $44 after fees.

Same here. Hope there's space to cut a rug in the venue!

dude Im REALLY fucking excited for this.... I always dreamed abt seeing AC perform one of their old albums in its entirety but didn't expect it to happen. only way it could be better is if all the dudes got together and toured playing Feels lol

anyway ya I'll be at the seattle show!!... was wondering what was up with main floor not appearing as an option for the presale but I went for the balcony

this is the first time I've bought concert tix in like 2 years... pumped

glad I checked again, every show I've ever looked into at the Lincoln over the years has been $65+, got me two tickets...the spotify presale didn't specify seating, but thankfully I don't really care where we are in the venue...

Seattles, there is now an option for seated main floor. Which is weird. I'm still gonna hold out but thought i should boost that signal.

lol it's pretty annoying that if I had waited and just done sonic boom's presale today, or probably any of the other ones, I could have gotten floor tickets. oh well.

Can't get a ticket but doesn't say anything about being sold out

EDIT: Every Europe show requires a promo code? But it should be general sale by now? But the promo code doesn't work either?

The promo code was for before the general sale. I guess they run out cause I wans't able to get a ticket then. General tickets were available at 10.00 GMT this morning, so 30 minutes ago, not at noon last night.

Checked online just as I was gonna head up there. It says noon on weekdays.

Ha! I'm actually locked outta my house now because I turned back when I realized I'd be waiting two hours to buy tickets in person for a show that might be sold out by then and then realized I don't have my keys.

And noon is what I’m assuming. Maybe I’ll see you there. I’ll be wearing a green jacket and a green Walden Pond hat

Lol. I ended up just buying tickets online too, for fear that the box office will have sold out by the time it opens

And fuck yea! Eric Copeland is one of the best openers I've seen for them in the past

not psyched at all about paying 23 extra dollars in fees (incl. one I'm assuming is exclusive to Chicago - the “amusement fee"), but I'll be there! I'll totally take my girlfriend if she unlocks the door anytime soon!

Going to the Denver one. So is it Eric Copeland in addition to Laraaji or Lonnie Holley opening? I thought it was just one of the three based on the venue

im in the same boat, took way too much acid at the first one and it significantly detracted from the experience, but i learned my lesson/am weeping with joy at the opportunity for a second chance

gonna fly out for the chicago show, so fuckin stoked

i hope they do something totally wicked for bonus songs like that time they played a young prayer song together, or an acoustic chocolate girl.

sung tongs
Spoiler: show

i was just rewatching old footage of them bringing these songs to life by just humming and making whatever kind of noise that would suit the song and hoping they start bringing these tongs to life like the gruesome twosome that they are.

acoustic chocolate girl? o that's awesome, did not know that existed. ya these shows are gonna be amazing, and the sung tongs duo has always deserved another tour. i regret/take back even feeling or expressing thinking it was "uncharacteristic" of them to do this even tho like i guess it technically is, but ya these shows are gonna be more than just nostalgia ultra. they should do an acoustic fickle cycle

oh, no! they've never done chocolate girl ever until 2008, that was just me being wishful, too. anything could get slipped in playing this set over and over again, right?

the nostalgia factor is pretty sweet too, though. back in 2003, people where like, "what is this", now pepole are clapping to help recreate the song...

Honestly don’t know how it happened, I must’ve dumped tickets from my cart ~10 times before I struck gold (at roughly $115 for 2 I wasn’t exactly inspired to settle for row Q right off the bat)

Looks like LA is now completely sold out.
