Yup... Absolutely perfect. As p nu said, the blend of visuals and audio was amazing. Definitely the best I've ever seen/heard as well. The sound was great, no complaints there. I captured video of most all of his opening song. The audio seems to be pretty good so I'll try uploading it when I can but I haven't had internet for a couple of months now, so no promises on an upload coming anytime too soon hehe
There was a moment during one of the songs (couldn't say the name, I've been distancing myself from any boots of his new material) where I closed my eyes and imagined myself to be floating in the void of space for the whole song. Beautiful experience. Definitely one of those shows that I never wanted to end

Also not gonna lie, I was totally expecting him to play the "marijuana makes my day" (cosplay?) as a closer to the set seeing as it was psych fest and all lol

Well it still was the same song but rearranged, the beats were changed and then the chorus itself changed as well and in my oppinion was far morw singy and beautiful from the versions i had heard previously. I say new version, but pretty much every song i knew was different than atp

Agree with all y'all, both my girlfriend and I left dumbstruck saying it might've been the greatest show wee ever seen. Hypnotizing was the word she used.
And damn! I so meant to get that poster before we left and then completely spaced! Did anyone find any other PB or AV swag? They kept telling us there was a separate booth for bands to sell their own stuff at, but we never found it

Never found any other merch no.
Yeah man the visuals were sooo hypno - totally get the concept of the record way way way more now and each song made so much more sense with a visual context - so many of the lyrics showed new meaning - i cant see this record not being as good or better than person pitch

Not even sure what song it was, but somewhere near the end of the set, he was singing, "you might die today" (or something similar) and it just blew me away, so powerful

it seems like noah rerecorded the samples for a lot of these, it all feels a bit less "raw" than the last time we heard this material. still as good but with rounded edges

The set was amazing! I got backstage for both the sound check and show. Talked to Noah and Danny about the tour and got a really great look at all the gear. Once I get home I'll upload pictures and go a little more in depth on what the guys had to say. What an experience!
would love to hear more about this and see some pictures!
and yes please to a boot (any boot)

Yep, it's the end of fill those spaces where he sings "you could die today". That's a new ending, right? Pretty magical.
And I have that first pic from a different angle, such that the grim reaper is tapping pandas head. I'd post it if I knew how to work the Internet

That is my favorite song of "Panda Bear Meets the Grim Reaper" already, it is since the first time I heard it on the bootlegs, it gets me this Arthur Russell type of vibe, but it's unique in its own way, it's beautiful! it's full of noise but at the same time it's so mellow, love it. Best Track of 2014 write it down (if it gets release this year of course =P)

I’m finally back home here in Colorado so I tried my best to recall what I could. Feel free to ask questions and I hope some of this information is new to you guys.
I've seen the full band, slasher flicks, and avey/deakin/panda solo, all several times, and this was by far the best performance I've witnessed yet. I'll echo what others have said in this thread: these new songs carry some massive weight.
Being backstage for the sound check allowed me to hear individual samples to a lot of the songs out of context. Very few of them sounded sourced from other people as was alluded to in an interview recently. He was controlling most of these samples through the Studiomaster and I didn’t see a Boss sampler anywhere (it’s possible I missed it). I didn’t take a picture because I was trying to respect his space, but I’m scouring the web for some of the gear I saw.
Perez told me that he and Noah were really excited about using a lot of choreography and people in the new visuals. I asked him if he had any hand in slasher flicks visuals the night before and he hadn't. He was really stoked (as was I) to score one of the posters somebody posted above, which are still available on the festival website, and informed me that there wasn't any merch at the show, but that there might be later this month.
Noah told me he wasn't going to be playing any Tomboy stuff for APF but that he will probably bring it out for the rest of the dates. He also told me that Sonic Boom wasn't going to be there because he was currently mixing the record, but it's possible I misunderstood his response to my question.
I had seen Panda previously at his first U.S. show debuting Tomboy, Pitchfork 2010 and was very familiar with the Tomboy boots leading up to that show. As a result, I've tried to abstain this time around in an attempt to avoid the same excruciatingly drawn out experience, so I apologize if I misidentify a song in my write-up due to my unfamiliarity.
The visuals for this show were absolutely spot on. “No Joke” paired so well with the visuals of the woman’s body as did “Dark Clouds” (possibly my favorite track of the night). I honestly preferred the older version of “Principe Real” to the one he played. It seemed to have lost a little bit of edge and urgency. I started the show stage left of Panda backstage but quickly decided to go out in the crowd for a better view of the visuals and sound. The lights were spectacular as well! There were bullseye shapes project onto mist/smoke that were a really great subtle touch. You can see them in my picture below.

for some reason i can't get into this song, i dunno why but it just does nothing for me. i'd go as far as to say it's my least favorite out of all the new tracks lol, funny how opinions can differ so much...
fill those spaces on the other hand…

also i'm glad he might whip out a few tomboy tracks for the tour, wonder what he's gonna play…i guess most likely what he played at that french festival tho i'd rather hear others instead

I'm loving the changes on the new tracks, they are sounding a lot more psychedelic and less straight-forward then the original batch. That being said, I still hope that Wazzup ends up making an appearance on the album in some fashion, since that track flows so well with Till I Die. Did he play Till I Die without Wazzup? I honestly can't imagine it happening any other way on the album. Anyways, I'm so pumped for this thing.

he did play 'til i die - but it was a much different version - way more spacey than the ATP - it was beautiful - that amazing beat still hit at the end too which is my favorite part - sounds like the most blissed out Kanye West beat

the ATP set was a whole lot busier with sounds all over the place. This was a lot smoother and more refined.

I'm basically on the complete opposite on this one. I feel that the vacuum song is one of the most atmospheric jams that Panda has ever put down. It has this bittersweet melancholia that is pretty intoxicating to listen to. As for fill those spaces, to me it sounds like Disney music, and I don't mean that as a compliment. Both tracks are pretty repetitive, but the vacuum song ends up putting me into a trance, while fill those spaces just makes me want to go watch a Walt Disney movie instead.
To each their own

Wow, I'm surprised that he played Til I Die without Wazzup. I thought for sure that they were going to end up being one song. God, I'm so excited for the DC show next week.
