Don't really see why Modern Daze E is level with A Sender, pretty weak chorus in that one.
I was listening to A Sender while doing something else but had to stop and come back to my computer to say,
Jeeze I can't believe how hard Avey kills these opening tracks every time.
PEACEBONE
Laughing Hieroglyphic
in the Flowers !
MR. FINGERS
WATER CURSES
So this album is awful right? Seriously. Does anyone else hate it? Not joking.
Avey is so into F# major key this lp (daze, sender, catchy and kind of outlaw.. via Clayton), it was all abt E major for chz (applesauce, honeycomb, moonjock)... (at least that what the keys are to me, i'm no theory wiz)
yr right but how did u not list Graze/Moonjock

he said he never got super gothed though. I mean, I got really into the Cure in middle school but I was never a goth either.

You could apply all of Anthony's criticisms about overuse of effects and obscured vocals to a My Bloody Valentine album, but how come he doesn't complain about them?
However, I think the compression on the album lessens the dynamics, but that's really my only complaint.
An interesting question I've been wondering lately, is the over-saturation of music in a post-internet age killing challenging and dense albums in favor of something more immediate and disposable?
On the other hand, there does seem to be lots of disposable music on the airwaves these days. Finding the good music is a challenge in itself, and the listener has gotta work for it.
Maybe because MBV mixes and composes their music in a way that allows all of the instrumentals and add-ons of each track to blend into a cohesive whole?
So many moments on ETSH make you want to find the original ProTools timetables for each track and turn down everything that doesn't aptly compliment the main melodies.
