I had to pick MPP cause its one of the only ones to have track after track perfection. Not a miss on the album.

This is like picking a favorite child if all your children were world-renowned Nobel prize winners.

...and in different fields.

That said, I'm somewhat interested in seeing what the results are. I'm sure there are people out there whose favorite is Indian or Danse. Which I mention because I'd think either of those would be a dark horse in this race, but then again I can't say for sure, and that's why I'm curious.

Chz cuz its most interesting to me texturally and from a songwriting perspective, if I had to try and say why. TS, Applesauce and Mercury Man are 3 of my favorite Avey joints

Nearly a toss-up between SJ, MPP and CHZ, but I usually err towards the freshest stuff, and I still actually listen to chz regularly unlike others. And I feel like I connect with Chz the best right now, despite my long, intimate history with the other 2. Just a zeitgeisty thing prbly

One of my favorites of their slower more atmospheric tracks

the tracks that weren't played in 07 have never felt right on MPP for me. i think sj is a better listen front-to-back

Can't believe some of yal still on Feels or PP hype. Just can't relate to that on. Love Feels but could prbly go years without it. Loch Raven is the only track I'd revisit for a while methinks

Don't understand all the obsession over mpp actually, I think the four albums before it were better (hcti, sung tongs, feels, sj) plus I feel like its actually less consistent than their best albums.

Tie between spirit/hcti/feels/sj/mpp. That's literally as close as I can get lol. All those albums are just untouchable to me.

if you're saying that sung tongs is more consistent than mpp then we're just gonna have to agree to disagree

Person Pitch followed by Feels, with Strawberry Jam and MPP not trailing far behind. It's funny to think about now, but I sort of disliked Feels when it came out. I was pretty obsessed with Sung Tongs at the time, and I really missed Panda Bear's influence on the singing and songwriting. Feels was such an "Avey" album, and that was kind of hard to digest.

Even now I consider myself to generally be more in line with Panda's whole aesthetic, which is why Person Pitch is still my fav, but then again here I am liking Feels more than MPP, and Down There more than Tomboy. Some of that is due in part to the way these albums were produced, but ultimately it just goes to show how multi-faceted and hard to pin down AC really is.

Man I just have this thing with AC where I'm most hyped on the most recent stuff, so its really hard for me to even consider Spirit, Feels and Sung Tongs cuz I never listen to those, even though I do love those albums. Mpp, Fbk, DT, OSAC and Tomboy are the only things I'd consider besides Chz really. I'm not really sure what it is, I'd like to think I'm closer to their headspace when they do recent stuff though, cuz I was like a clueless 14 yr old when Feels came out, and when I "fell in love" later on, that record didn't sound like love to me (cept Loch Raven),but I feel like the more recent the stuff is, the more I 'get' it and understand where its coming from on a deeper intuitive level. Avey's songwriting really does it for me, but I'll take him in front of a sampler doing DT songs over acoustic ST sets or Feels freak-out jams any day. I don't really feel like I know that older guy as well.

Same with Panda. PP is like obvs incredible, but I prbly don't need to listen to that again for a while. When the dust has cleared in like a decade, it'll be much clearer to me how each album has aged, but at this point I'd rather hear Alsatian Darn over any PP track any day. Honestly do think the guys keep getting better though, zeroing in on something
