What on earth does the treble have to do with the bitrate?
And I don't know what you mean by "maybe 256"... if it's a transcode of a 320, it's already much worse quality than 256.
If you knew anything about bitrates, you'd know that they work on the harder to hear frequencies first, so it usually cuts away at the high treble about 20k. And if it's a transcode, it's a damn good one. I'm an audio engineer. It's pretty straightforward.

if avey did the same outlaw vocal outro that he did in the glasslands boot this (incomplete) album would be perfect

Sorry, I thought you didn't know any better and were using "treble" to describe the actual mixing of the album in a general sense, not the file itself.
I'm probably just cranky because I haven't heard it yet... but I can't listen to it without "Roses on the Window"

Nah the freebird sounds like a transcode, even though it's supposedly the real deal. Also, it's missing a song so that kind of sucks.

Here's what the spectra of the original and freebirded Little Fang look like.
freebird on the left, official version (free download with concert tickets) on the right. Both are nominally 320 kbps MP3s. Lots of >20kHz stuff going on in the freebirded version. I'll leave the interpretation to someone with more audio engineering expertise, but hey, they're different.

Pop garbage. Avey Tare's Sellout Flicks. Pretty much ruins everything he's ever done musically previously to this for me. He lost a fan on this one.

that whispering part in That It Won't Grow is by far the best thing on here (and cphz) . love also how it continues.

This album is so simplistic it's bordering on infantile. It's the kind of thing I'd imagine a kid in 6th grade listening to so that he can feel cultured an sophisticated. It tries so hard to be more than it is and falls completely on it's face. Avey is really struggling to find any sort of meaning to put forth on this album, but it's slipping through his finger tips like quickly evaporating water. Each track is a betrayal of what makes Avey good and each track exquisitely demonstrates that he simply isn't anymore. He's exhausted what little talent he had so he's recruited two indie rejects to keep his career alive. Three has-beens is clearly not a recipe for music. I'd say that Avey should stick to what he knows, but I don't think he even remembers what that is. The Avey train has officially run out of steam. RIP AVEY TARE.

Haha I'll admit I laughed, Danny, at this pseudo-intellectualist attempt to disregard the virtuosity of Avey's musicianship.

lulz buddy. Your signature is so fresh and funny. Deak sounds like D which is the first letter of Dick. So when you say "give her the deak" you're actually making a joke about Deakin and male genitalia. So clever.

the super positive dubby parts in Your card are soo sickk! Right now The Outlaw, A Sender, and Your Card are my favorites
have to say though, that "o o o o o ooo" part in Blind Babe makes me laugh every time. Its like they knew that it was an AC related release and had to squeeze some "o o o oo's" in there somewhere. love it

So this is kind of a perfect album. Can't fucking wait for Roses to fill it out. But this is like if Brian Wilson circa Smile and Mccartney/Lennon circa b/w MMT and White Album got together to make a garage pop masterpiece. But its also Avey's 'Ram', cuz that was Paul's second solo album, and first where he has Linda singing in the background, way better than his first.
But can we agree that this is probably the catchiest AC related release maybe ever? Up there with My Girls and Today's Supernatural, but maybe even moreso. There seems to be a really high hooks per second rate. Blind Babe and Strange Colores are strait garage rock, albeit with lots of weird noises (why I think they chose to make Duplex Trip different maybe). But there's great economy to the songs. They feel light sometimes but always deceptively so. So consistent too
