this is neat. glad there's a release date attached to the project. it is Ariel Pink-ish but it's undeniably Dave. I wonder if this is just "the single" of the album, or if the other songs have gotten reworked to be poppy-er.

Unless things have been pretty thoroughly tweaked/reworked, this sounds like an outlier, and Lucky 1 was a bit of an outlier too if you think about it.

I'm abstaining but gosh darn, let's be glad that there has finally been some announcement.

To be perfectly honest, though, it seems a little odd that they're still calling the band 'Avey Tare's Slasher Flicks' instead of just 'Slasher Flicks'. And an album title like 'Enter the Slasher House' is pretty on-the-nose for something AC-related...but maybe that's the idea?

Enter The Slasher House haha, didn't realise that was the album title. I suppose it fits with the goofy vibes but I couldn't see myself asking for it in a shop. I guess I'll have to steal it now.

I actually really like the lyrics to this song, but I definitely understand why some people don't. I just happen to like when Avey gets cutesy/silly with his words, and this is like a super concentrated dose of that.

the production and style here is kinda unoriginal imo, its a little too close to ariel pink. BUT the vocal melodies and singing from avey is top notch and single handedly pushes this into an enjoyable song for me. i havent heard any of the slasher boots at all but im hoping they didnt go for the cynical disco thing on every track, if not i am real excited.

id like to think the rest of the trax on the record will have their own identity. i totally think the "dark" tracks will all still be in good fun and not super heavy...like i really dont think this record is going to take itself too serious if you know what i mean, i think thats really rad cuz ive always loved the humorous AC and i havent heard the goofy and quick avey in a while...super pumped
