Kind of agree but at least they are making up the date. It is the last stop on the tour and possibly for the entire CHz cycle so maybe they'll give us something extra.

I called a couple months back and they said it was fine. I'm going to call again just in case.

Can't believe this is the last CHz show! No more AC until at least 2015 I'm sure.

THEY BETTER BRING IT

TONIGHT IS THE NIGHT!!!

I'm hoping that we get lucky and they play more than 12 songs.

...oh and if they don't play Did You See the Words, What Would I Want? Sky, I Think I Can and Amanita then I will be devastated!

Setlist:

Applesauce
Lion in a Coma
Wide Eyed
Father Time
I Think I Can
Pulleys
What Would I Want? Sky
Amanita
Monkey Riches
Brother Sport

Crimson
Today's Supernatural
The Purple Bottle

Finally! The wait was worth it! Great crowd in my area also. Everyone knew the words and danced and there were no visible assholes. Seemed like we were all having fun! While waiting for my wife in the bathroom, I looked over and saw Avey! I wasn't sure if it was him but then he looked over and gave me a nod like "yes dude...it's me!" LOL So I went and said hi. Asked if they were playing Did You See the Words and he said not tonight. I told him I was bummed and asked about I Think I Can and he assured me that was on the setlist. I didn't want to bug him so I said thanks and left. Then I saw Harmony Korine chilling watching bEEdEEgEE and told him he was hilarious at the Gang Gang Dance show I saw two years ago (he got onstage for the end of their set and sang the word "pussy" over the last two songs....this went on for seriously 10 minutes...over and over). He laughed and I moved again. I saw Geo but I didn't want to bother him. I found a great spot in the middle and the show started soon after. The audience was very loud tonight! I think that's why they gave us 13 songs instead of the normal 12. Applesauce was rad as usual. Lion in a Coma got huge applause. Wide Eyed seemed different from the last time I saw them in ATL a year ago. During the "if I could change my mind..." section the drums and everything cut out completely. Sounded cooler than the album version! It seemed faster also. Father Time had the extended intro jam. I Think I Can fooled me at first as the song began with a cool interlude. Definitely one of the highlights of the night. Panda and Deakin did the verse harmonies and Avey joined up for the chorus parts. The visuals were awesome for this song. Digital whales and glitchy ocean vibes. Pulleys also had a sweet segue before launching in. I love the different dynamics for this track as opposed to the album version. The middle jam section was totally new in comparison to what I saw in 2012. Very noisey and harsh, almost Merzbow level intensity before entering the Scheherazade samples section (they were a lot quieter this time and Panda made smaller yelps instead of extended vocal screams). WWIW?S was another that the crowd went nuts for. Lots of dancing in my area for this one. Deakin on bass ruled! He should play the instrument more often! The drums also sounded great! Amanita was next! One of my favs from CHz and another huge highlight of my night! The live version is so much better than what's on the record! Again, this one has great dynamics live and the outro is huge after it breaks down from the "forest" section. Panda kills it at the end! Monkey Riches was cool but it seemed the mix was a bit off. Brothersport...holy shit! This made waiting all those months fade from my mind! I cannot put into words the energy and feeling I experienced during this song. The track began with everyone dancing and singing every word and then...the middle jam happened! There's no use explaining what happened here because it can't be explained...but just know that it. was. intense! Seriously...just felt the happiest energy filling my body and sending goosebumps up and down my skin. I'm sure this went on for another 10 to 15 minutes but it's hard to say because I was in such a trance. Just...WOW! So then the guys thanked everyone and exited the stage.

The crowd went ape shit! It was loud. Everyone clapped until our dudes returned to the stage. Next up we got Crimson. A nice surprise! File this under the "better live" category as well. A nice comedown from the insanity that was Brothersport. Oh, and the outro was a bit longer. Reading all of the setlists from previous shows on the last run of this tour, I assumed only one song was left. But I was wrong! We got Today's Supernatural and The Purple Bottle! The audience loved Today's Supernatural! I saw so many people screaming the words and dancing their asses off. The band was on fire at this point. I was sad knowing that it was almost over. And so it was...The Purple Bottle ended the night and worked as a perfect closer for this incredible experience. Another crowd pleaser. All of us singing the lyrics. Thankful I was able to see this song played as it's one of my favorites. Perfection!

rampface, I have been to two Animal Collective shows: the one at the Tabernacle in Atlanta a year ago, and this one in Nashville. I am a Vanderbilt freshman and I definitely convinced my parents last year that I wanted to go to Emory so that I could miss school and tour campus (go to the concert). It sounds like we were both at those shows. Both were incredible.
Screaming "STILL FEEL IT" with Avey Tare at the end of Purple Bottle was one of the highlights of my life. I was dancing like an actual insane person for the whole show, and most of the people around me were too. Everything went super well, even though there was one "visible asshole." I was pretty near the front, and there was one guy there, clearly wasted, who kept trying to start a mosh. He hit several of the guys near me and was running into everyone. He was eventually taken out by security. Other than that, it was a beautiful, beautiful, night, and a pretty life-affirming start to my exam week. Thanks AC for Centipede Hz and this show and everything.

Yo, northernchild. I'm glad to know there is some more AC love on campus. I've only met a few people here who have actually heard of them... the friends I went with to the concert had essentially only heard "My Girls." The whole country music thing can get a little discouraging.

yea, i've lived here most my life and went to belmont (hipster school). but you'll be surprised (not surprised) to find that few people in nashville listen to ac or related music (even/especially at belmont). hope you enjoy your freshman year!

the snow needs to go now, there's incremental patches all over campus and it just reminds me it's still cold
that being said, I was giggling like an idiot Monday night/ morning when it was coming down

i drove all the way from missouri with some buds to catch their last show and i was exhausted but downed a red bull and danced my buttcheex off. we had seen them once before in kansas city in october. i must say i enjoyed that one more but mostly because i was under the influence and so was everyone around me and there was lots of hugging and overwhelmed-ness between my friends and i, seeing anco for the first time haha.

this show was still phenomenal though, first time ever in nashville. definitely left a great impression! danced next to some really fun girls. the next day i ate the best vegan breakfast burrito i'll probably ever eat.
