To my knowledge, we're at least expecting:

Noah
- Mariachi versions of (some?) Reset songs
- Sinister Grift
- Heems collab
- New Dean Blunt collab

Josh
- New LP

Dave
- Gator Pools

Brian
- Collaborative acoustic guitar-mangling project with friend

Band
- Collaborative EP
- Documentary score (Brian + Josh)
- Music Box Village

I could have sworn at some point during an interview for either Skiffs or IIN - that Geo is working on a collaborative project with a friend of his? Anyone remember this?

I'm sure they will post about the MPP repress but I don't think that's what this post is about. Either a live record or that collaborative EP I think. Exciting times!

wow i was so shocked to see this, was NOT expecting the band to pop up with a teaser of something so soon.

-- i'm guessing this means they finished the collab EP???

-- that new MPP reissue holographic cover looks so sick

thanks for the rundown of projects in the works, lhtd... i knew about all of those but to see them mapped out like that is really exciting

Yeah, I remember that. It was something about manipulating acoustic guitar samples.

I did a listen of IIN on a plane. I'M ON A PLAAANE! i couldn't complain... I looked at the fields of cloud while magicians in baltimore played. Kings too. Above new york state just staring at cumulous I think. Fluffy, fluffy clouds. Around sunset. In the stratosphere shit is different. it's easy to separate yourself from shit, being in a tube in the air. But it was amazing. The album is just fucking amazing. I think, also, on relisten, that the other music show is 100% one of their best. I could rave. And i will. But fuck.

Listening to music on planes with a good window view is one of my favorite things, have had some classic listens in this context. One of my fav memories of the early days of my AC obsession was listening to Search for Delicious on a plane.

Ive just noticed that there’s a live version of summertime clothes tacked onto the end of MPP on apple music. I just listened, and it’s fucking awesome. Super high quality and it sounds like 2007, with the original lyrics. Anyone know specifically what show it is? I’m sure it’s been discussed on here before. I’d love to hear a recording that good of the entire show (which im sure the band is sitting on)

(i still havent forgiven them for releasing a live album of 2009 material instead of 2007 material. just superfan things)

It's from their show at The Music Box at the Henry Fonda Theater in Los Angeles on September 18, 2007. We have a full boot of the show in the Live Recordings section, although it isn't mixed and mastered.

This Summertime Clothes was released alongside a live recording of Brother Sport (taken from the same show) and released via the download card from the original MPP vinyl. Without looking it up, I think these tracks are also included in the Japanese version of MPP. I'm unsure whether posting a link to Brother Sport would be permitted, but if you want it, it's on the web (or other places).

Both bonus tracks are inarguably one of my favorite live recordings of each song. The way Dave yelled the third verse back then really brought the song into itself.

MPP is the last freebird I remember downloading. Love your Christmas memory, blindmowing. MPP is forever a snowy record for me too. The day of the freebird—was it Christmas day?—I went for a walk with my iPod Shuffle on a snow-covered country road. I’d never heard “Also Frightened” before. Blew my MF mind.

I know the Christmas freebird of MPP is a strong memory for a lot of people and conjures up snow, winter weather, and "white Christmas", but I lived in New Orleans at the time and I listened to the MPP freebird shirtless on a quad in 78 degree weather on Christmas Day.

i got super excited thinking it was a studio ‘from a beach’
it’ll still be nice to hear a proper mix and master of that BBC one though

I'm curious if From a Beach will be the rip we have from the BBC session or the higher-quality version of the session recording that we have from Dave's 2015 LA DJ set (that was mixed with Beau Mot Plage—Isolee).

My money is on it being high quality, which makes me endlessly excited (and endlessly frustrated that we won't get high-quality BBC sessions from the MPP era for a long time). Those sessions seem to have more longevity than MPP in my listenings.
