Anyway anyone can gimme some feedback on this track? I was going to give PB & SB a copy of my CD when they were in Seattle but I royally chickened out.

And would love to see if anyone can spot the Animal Collective related sample in here...

Only in part 1, but around 1:45 there is a sound similar to one at the start of New Town Burnout, although I don’t believe it is the same. There’s also a kinda growling sound that is reminiscent of one used in Peacebone.

ETA: finished it, it’s clear you out in a lot of work, great job producing this! I liked the slow build in part 1, part 2 I really got into the groove, part 3 I liked the string sample, reminded me of some Beatles strings, but I wasn’t as huge on the rhythmic chanting voices but did like the synth sample that sounded reminiscent of postal service’s natural anthem (to me at least), part 4 really enjoyed the brass, kinda reminded me of sufjan circa 05, or anathallo. Well done!

thank you for this. kind of a rough listen with all the "yea yea yea..yeaa..yeaa"s from the interviewers rushing noah to the end of an answer so they can get their own take in. kinda brutal and hard to listen to at times. i know interviewing is an art form in and of its own and not easy at all. still noah seems in good spirits and theres some great gems in here. really want to hear that drunk merriweather bootleg

Thanks so much for the detailed feedback! Can be kinda hard to know if you're on the right track without it.

That's a good guess. Centipede Hz vibes on that sample. Also, great palette reference with Beatles. It isn't from them, but it sounds like it could be something from the White Album era. All I can say is it isn't "Pearls" by Sade, which is virtually identical. Hint, hint the sample is a solo Panda sample. I'll take a page out of the Collective's book and keep the samples shrouded until they are guessed! The chanting in part III was maybe a risky move production-wise so I suspect it's either gonna be someone's favourite or least favourite part! Glad you liked the brass, went on a bit of a limb with them but if Prefab Sprout has taught me anything it's that it's a worthy endeavour to seek out catharsis is the corniest of corners!

re: chanting, totally will be someone's favorite part, and honestly i think it was a good and brave call, i wouldn't have thought to put that there, and i think it does add extra dynamics to what's already a dynamic track. most of all though, good on you for sharing and being open to feedback, that takes guts. i appreciate you sharing and am glad i heard it!

i wouldn't think of it as an interview necessarily, he's a guest on their podcast.
thought it was a fun convo!

Listened to reset in dub a few times, it's nice and vibey but not quite the revelation I was maybe hoping for. First three tracks are sweet like a few of you noted. Danger dub is cool with the slowdown but those pitched vocals come in and I am not a fan, so that's the weakest point for me. Everything's Been Leading to This Dub is good, I probably like that one more than the og.

Guess I'm just not a dub guy! Still haven't had that moment with any dub music where it clicks

Yeah... Yeah... Yeah... I wonder how many times they say yeah during that interview. Noah was relaxed and they asked good questions, so it is still an interesting podcast, but good god

Edit: watched the rest, some cool tidbits for sure and a rare introspective interview. No hate

Basically as addicted to Reset in Dub as I was with Reset last year. Took this album to the beach today and really enhanced the experience. A total hit. Gotta pick this up on vinyl soon.

Made me happy to see that, especially in light of the stuff Geo said in that recent interview about the financial realities of being a musician these days. Hopefully it was fruitful. But beyond that, it sounds so good!

How's there not been one decent live show recording from any of the reset tours? The songs truly take on a life of their own live. Pete please record a soundboard for us.
