1. On the Farm (panda 1999)
2. That it Won’t Grow
3. Boneless (panda bear remix)
4. Slow Words (Avey live 2011)
5. Lisbon Zoo - > Jabberwocky (ATP rehearsal) (for me this was always supposed to be one track, but if this is an ilegal choice I can replace!)
Avey never recording Slow Words is the worst thing since Avey never recording Song for Jerome which is the worst thing since them not releasing a studio quality From a Beach or unreversed Pullhair
We’ve got enough to be able to draw out three entries per week. This way more people would have their tracks heard. Alternatively it might be fun to keep it feeling more like a lottery win (many people will not get drawn at all over the 8 weeks).
Is 15 songs (3 people) a week too much? Stick with 10 (two people)?
All for a lottery system, but entries per week should depend on the length of the entries that get selected. For example mine's less than ten minutes, others are the length of an album.
My point is if we're carving out time to listen to each others lists I would actually feel bad if we burned an entry on my selection and only got to listen to one other persons picks that week. Then again maybe we all can't commit to that much time a week
yeh, see your point but i don't think anyone will be coming for you! its all in good fun and just about exploring and chatting about a bunch of random tracks.
plus, i don't quite have the patience to be adding up track selection total lengths and figuring all that shit out!
i reckon we stick with just two picks of 5 each week. the luck of the draw will be part of the fun. then obviously we can always chat about any random track or thing in the general thread anytime anyway.
10 per week sounds like a good number. I personally wouldn't mind if my choices don't get selected. and I also wouldn't mind if Avey Tane's didn't get selected
Part of what I love about these things is that ‘new release Friday’ feeling. These are obviously all tracks that have previously come out but I get a similar sense of anticipation/excitement about listening as I do with new releases. Makes it almost feel like 8 weeks of new AC culminating in IIN.
Psyched to kick this off. Tomorrow morning for me (12 hours or so).
if it's not too late
1. ms secret,

In the singing box
Too Soon

happy singing band
Stretching songs for spring
Don't really know what the overarching theme of this list is they were just the first ones that came to mind, gone a little bit less live only cuts than a lot of these but some I would like to hear discussed more
seriously the most vapourwave they have ever sounded, despite a lot of people saying person pitch was the birth of vapourwave it sounds so different to what came after that i've never really seen the connection that much
I also wish i'd included both the fly and excalibur... hey foxtrot, can we just make this a continuous thing rather than just in the lead up to IIN, it's really made me realise how much unreleased gold we have, truly the best band to be a fan of in the world.. even just avey on his own, slow words(my fave avey song ever), in photographs, excalibur, the fly and mr funny man, could do this all day
Panda: boneless, atiba song, laughed fawfwf, song for ariel (better than guys eyes imo) and bonfire, some of his best songs ...
Deakin - live at the ottobar, i remember putting this on in the car with my dad and he hated it, he loves broadly alternative rock (flaming lips, arcade fire) which definitely influenced my taste, but he has always hated AC with a passion, and he absolutely despised deakin's solo efforts, however, i loved them and that is all that an hour of torture for my dad taught me, now my brothers who also railed against AC love them, with my middle brother trying to slip penny dreadfuls into a recommendation CD he made for me, i told him that i originally showed him it and he was very surprised, thinking he'd just enlightened me to a new band the world hadn't discovered yet... i told him where he'd heard it first and they are now one of his favourite bands.. interesting to me to think that your parent's taste doesn't define you but directs where you will end up musically...
I had friend whose parents only listened to robbie williams et al growing up and he has now formed a take that covers band, I am forever grateful that my parents had a somewhat interesting musical foundation to build upon. otherwise god forbid i would be singing 'I want you back' with the same kind of fervent passion i feel for the purple bottle...
that got incredibly sidetracked but my fingers were flowing so what can you do
by the way, the original point was that my dad absolutely hated deakin live at the ottobar, he called it 'unlistenable noise'... if only he could hear danse
There’s going to be quite a few tracks here that I have never heard before which is cool. Will push me to track down various things I’ve never bothered to in the past.
There may be one or two tracks that have been listed twice. Oh well, too much work to figure out every single double up! We’ll survive.
Going to do the first draw in about an hour!
