Ah, just got word of the shenanigans. I dunno, hope everyone's happy, none of my business, I'm in it for the jams. Can't believe how many features PB dropped the last year and some change. The "Aftershow" song with Imperio Pacifico is pure bliss.

Just now realizing that they added the songbook instrumentals and remixes to my bandcamp digital version rather than making me buy the expanded edition. Generous move

The Andy Stott and Container remixes for PBvsGR tracks were super good too.

Panda's questions are pretty hilarious - really focused on getting Pete to define terms or to weigh in on bedrock philosophical questions (nature v nurture; goodness and badness).

Yeah . Was always that way .... different questions similar opinions ...
When I first met Noah we went to 5 guys in Brooklyn heights & I remember he asked a bunch of those sort of impossible ‘Beatles or the Stones ? “ , “ Sabbath or AC/DC? “ type conundrums . ( The first ones impossible , the second one’s easy ) . It’s good banter . I like it : ) It’s a cool idea for an interview too ...

If memory serves correctly you two also went to McDonalds in the "Greeting the Reaper" mini-doc. Any chance you guys would be willing to go on Doughboys, a podcast about chain restaurants? PB and the guys could talk basketball. It's a silly show but they're good dudes.

Hmmm . My idea of fast food is chicken roast on a barbecue . I always feel guilty about the major burger chains . I think this is more one for Noah but i’m Down . Maybe we can discuss is there such a thing as good or bad food ....or good or bad joints ...that Lisbon Zoo McD is definitely unique ...

they just announced a show at a festival in Winnipeg this summer! woo Canada date!

i played Reset this week for the first time in a bunch of months... love the sensation of returning to a well-loved record after some time away... i got that same rush of energy as i do when meeting up with an old friend... feeling appreciation anew. a warm, familiar hug. great sounds here.

When we practice , We don't really try to make it sound slick . But I'm sure some will come to light soon . It was filmed in Budapest . Will let u folks know if something comes to light . The shows are progressing in a generally upwards direction & the best of us is still coming out ....so I expect recordings will be better & better as we go . Hope u r all having a nice Spring opening up out there love xp

Can't wait to see this one live. I really want to hear this on a big system and feel the bass. Its become my favorite off the record. It sounds so much like a classic song that's been in existence already. He really evoked that easy going way of singing that so many great rocksteady songs have. I love how minimal it is.

Keep it light . Keep it fun . Keep it easy . That’s our mantra at Hotel Boom .
Touring musicians have a tough life , unless you think 6 hours in a van or traversing airports every day is your kind of magic . Personally , and I think Noah agrees , life is short & precious and there should be a balance . Personally I don’t do things like most people . I like new fresh & more adaptive models . Our light show consists of 2 small hemi mirror balls . 40 bucks each . The rest we adapt each day from what exists at the venue already to use in ways that make it special . We have a tight & caring team . Everyone pitches in . No stars in our world . Just a place for everyone to shine . We built the whole show to be able to be sleek streamlined efficient & super low impact . I believe Someone who recognised problems or issues and continues to be part of it is sociopathic & self entitling and personally , I can’t do that .
Places ? Sure - most places on this planet have some magic . Once you know how to recognise it , it’ll come looking for you . Just heading out with a warm heart & an open mind will change you’re life . More is usually less when more is all you seek . Almost nothing is nearly enough , and the top up is the peace of mind and the succour of symbiosis with every organism & natural object on this planet . Even the rocks . Which by birth name , I am .
Nobodies perfect , and certainly not me but the direction you point yourself and your interaction will mean the most magical moments start washing over you like waves almost anywhere . Planet earth , your a trip ..... thank you for being just that and thank you for letting me be just a little tiny piece . Love to you all . Have a beautiful day there please , it’s out there ! X Pete K

Wow, I wasn't expecting such a thoughtful and thought-prvoking answer. I don't have the right words to say, but I hope one day I can have the same perspective as you, i tend to dwell on the negative things occurring around me every day. Music is one of my few escapes from that negativity, so thanks for bringing joy back to the world that way!

Thanks for the inspiring response Sonic. You're a gem of a human! Great reminder to remove the excess in life and catch the wave that guides you. I'm gonna see Zakir Hussain play tabla tonight and am super psyched to be able to hear a life long musician express himself through rhythm.

Been dwelling on a particular interpretation of Danger that’s been growing on me so I thought I might share: it feels like one of the most romantic songs I’ve heard in recent memory, as well as an ode to the love-hate relationship of creating art and making music. The whole song describes a push and pull, almost exhausted in tone in one line (“Caught in the storm of the body's way”), then a sigh of relief and gratitude in the next (“When can I go, go home to you?”). Verses end in resolve—“And now I'm back here beggin' for more,” “I'll keep coming back for more”—and could easily feel cynical with just a textual read. But the song itself oozes gratitude, equating the dichotomy of creation with the difficulty of maintaining love and partnership; it may be a lot of work that takes so much of yourself, but there’s nothing better than coming home to safety and comfort. “All that you do for me”… but “can’t you see what you do to me?”

Reset is still such a gift because of how earnest and optimistic it is, but the lyrics (with some of Panda’s career-best, IMO) admit a difficult and goofy world out there. My favorite albums tend to parse that apparent contradiction into a fulfilling exploration so well and this one’s no different.
