What buoys (song) is about. It seems to me that it cplud talk about the relationship between noah and his dog from the animal point of view. But i suspect im influenced by the videotape and it should say "he comes to me" instead of "it comes to me"

on the subject of the song buoys:

"it comes to me / plain to see" is a fog of anxiety lifting, giving a clear perspective
the song to me reads as thoughts on being alive. being appreciative of the privilege that is your sense of self, living in your space with your people and existing from moment to moment. forgetting about the enormous issues of the world that dwarf you when they occupy your brain.

maybe putting a lot of myself into that interpretation, and definitely drawing a lot from noah's notes. I get this theme from a lot of his songs so idk.

I really loves buoys musically, but the lyrics are very different from the others album. I can't get it at all. For me words in Panda Bear music have always been very important element, one of the reason why it's my favourite music ever and i feel is art so close to me, and it helps me a lot too.. This distance i feel now to this new language it makes me sad.

I would say most of his lyrics are cryptic. noah has a mysterious way of obscuring the meaning of even his simple lyrics, partially because of his singing style, partially because of his obtuse grammar... its fascinating honestly

i think what makes buoys super interesting is that he's addressing the listener directly in a lot of the songs. where his other records had perhaps more personally revealing lyrics, i think buoys feels the most intimate to listen to. some of that is definitely his voice sounding more clear and in front than ever before as well too.
