hey maybe this has been answered before but

Marco Papiro, who also did pbvsgr, all things being equal, several more sonic boom/spacemen 3 projects and others

Swisscilian typeface mafia..... : )
Wow awesome to know so much more about him, thanks!
And I'm excited to hear that the print is nice on the LP sleeve. Makes such a difference when a little thought gets put in. And excited to see the lyric sheet too

Yeah , Marco Papiro is our buddy from Basel . He makes cool records too.... He did all the sleeves for EPs etc in the PBvsGR era . His work is usually based around abstracted letter forms . He created the "RESET" typeface that's used on the sleeve . I like it that some people don't see that it says RESET on the cover , though I don't quite understand why .......
I really love what he did for the sleeve too...... The colour palette is perfect for the record . Marco heard the stuff before he set on in & one of the briefs was that it should look like something for party supplies or a kids party , but maybe from the 50s or 60s or 70s when the print tended to be more basic & simple & blocky .
The actual sleeve has a nice texture . We used the reverse side of the board with a special print finish . He did an awesome lyric fold out too with a poster on the back . I did'nt see a finished copy yet , but I have a test sleeve & it's awesome.
Noah & Marco both really like abstract & unusual typefaces too & Marco nearly always builds his own . I believe much of his work is usually for the Pharmaceutical companies like Sandoz & Bayer who have operations in Basel . But for joy & love he does stuff for records & live shows.
The Swiss of course have a long & deep history with printing & typefaces.....though Marco is originally from Sicily .....Swisscilian typeface mafia..... : )
Here's his website https://papiro.ch
Pete did Marco also do the inner sleeve for PBVSGR with the grim reaper saying "I know not what tomorrow will bring"? that's one of my all time favorite pieces of album artwork period.

Sonic how do you feel about fungi in general? Plant? Animal? Mineral? Fascinating form of life, first to form on land which is a recent development for me

AnimalVegetableMIneral Collective ? All are equal to me . But I can be a fun-gi on a good day.... : )
I think they've been an overlooked key element . They were only re-classified as not being a plant in 1969 (in my lifetime.....) . Our understanding of mycelium is also very recent . The largest living organism on our planet I believe.....
I also think their symbiosis with algae & bacteria that results in Lichens might also be key . I saw they've found our immunity to antibiotics can be reset using algae , making the antibiotics become super effective again.
If every living creature on this planet (and many minerals) are thought to be the progeny of and share DNA collective with fungi then it is hard to imagine the cure for all our ills does not lie within that massive kingdom .For our bodies & our minds .
They have found fungi that eats plastic and leaves no toxic byproducts . They might be the answer to a lot of things...
Drug companies like "plants" with alkaloid contents , and fungi have them....the science is moving really awesomely fast now with computer connectivity & more people working together as opposed to separately . Seeing & sharing other disciplines always informs your own ....
Sometimes there's not mush room for a fun-gi , but I always got space : )
fun fact: fungi are more closely related to animals than plants
everybody watch Fantastic Fungi (docu) and check out all of the TED talks that Paul Stamets has done, he's an inspiration
mycology and phycology ftw, if I ever go to grab school it will be for something phycological, algae is the fucking coolest

Wish the band would log back on here and tell us all to shut the fuck up
Really truly loving this album, been jamming it on the regular. Such good vibes.
Had to hop on here to ask one question: does anyone else think of "Swingtown" by Steve Miller Band everytime they listen to "Gettin' to the Point"? Once I hear it, I can't unhear it...they are in the same key for goodness sake! Take a listen, particular the vocal entry around 40 seconds in...
Someone tell me I'm not crazy.

Pete are there any plans to tease or compile the unused loops?
I know you boys have already shared so much, can't help but get greedy

I've listened to reset 2x as much as time skiffs at this point
Still playing this every other day, sometimes more, excellent album, incredibly consistent and feels rich after sitting with it for a while now, maybe maybe not far behind PP for me as best PB non-AC release. My current favourite elements are the toytown piano/synth lines, deceptively simple and very beautiful. Production and arrangements are also fucking gold, so well balanced and satisfying.
Just wanted to say I finally, finally, finally got in the right headspace with the right headphones to really listen to this album. what a tremendous, incredible album. the LP cuts, the instrumentals, those three loops you just shared - boom - this is a masterpiece. thank you thank you thank you.

at least
I don't get tired of it, I listen to it the same way I listen PP or Feels or Down There. Feels like a classic AC related album. It already is part of the family.
I'm getting my doctorate in ecopsychology right now (or really environmental studies but from a depth psychological / Jungian vantage). Holding a lot of reverence for the ecological and psychological considerations you're touching upon as such, Pete.
The arts and humanities are integral for us to approach what even is the right question to ask with regard to "this moment." So I'm stoked that my favorite musicians are finding ways to express images of this moment such that we can arrive at the question imposing itself on us in a meaningful and consequential way.
Might I recommend to all this talk by the renegade Jungian, James Hillman, on aesthetics, psychology, and Nature:
Also everyone checkout their ecological footprint with this calculator... really puts into perspective how absurd and short-lived our current modern lifestyles are: https://www.footprintcalculator.org/home/en

That's amazing . Nice direction to be looking .
yeah....I support no political parties . I'm more Lennon than Lenin . But I think if we perceive somethings wrong & don't do anything to try to address that, we're clearly part of the problem & not the solution . When we can stop forgiving ourselves for the things we do personally that we know are part of the problem we have hope & for those who do that I think mental wellness increases .
No knights in shining armour will save us . If we can grasp that we as individuals are not so important in the grande scheme , beyond how we detrimentally impact our environment & our society , we will be getting back on track . We all can undo what we were all part of creating .
This doc looks interesting . I left school at 16 & I don't know so much about Jung , Nietsche or Freud but what I did assess from my observations is they all found a little bit of truth & all also things I think are not so true . Do u know Buckminster Fuller ? I never heard him utter a word I didn't think was deeply true .
Looking forward to watching it this evening . Good luck with your studies & thank you for your kind words !
