Also that setlist posted earlier omitted Passerby, which I was hoping had the vocoder back (guys the vocoder is back in Cherokee and it is incredible) but it was incredible nonetheless

It was absolutely the best show I've ever been to (15+ AC/Panda/Avey/Deakin) in terms of the audience just enthralled with the material and respectful that there are people there to see the show and not hear a thousand chattering voices, that being said people could not handle the silences in Kings Walk and if anyone recorded it there will be many many woops in awkward places

Yeah some people were talking really loudly in Richmond lol. Idk how people can just spend money on concert tickets and not even enjoy the show.

Not 100% sure on the setlist yet but sounds like songs they played tonight include:
Screens, Cherokee, Magicians, Dragon Slayer, (unknown), in the flowers, chores, strung w everything, car keys, defeat, applesauce, king's walk, stride right, purple bottle

Oh and this is a minor thing, but it was me in the balcony who was the first person to clap at the end of Defeat. The song had been over for like 20 seconds and you could hear them already transitioning into Applesauce. To be fair, Defeat is the sort of song that is really begging for a clean cut, hold for applause, finish. It is such a rollercoaster ride, basically threes songs rolled into one, that if it's your first time listening you can easily get lost.
But yeah, TLDR, basically I saved the show.

i feel like they should just continually perform defeat throughout the rest of their career with more minor changes every year but never actually release it. at this point i'm just so used to it being different every time i hear it, with some new things i like and some new things i don't, with the version that plays in my head being some perfected amalgamation of all of them. it's a similar experience to the beach boys' smile in a way

Same. I legitimately would love to listen to 30 different versions of Defeat, all different enough to come back to

this line was too funny to me at 8:30am - "Change all of your plans, ditch your life, get yourself to an AC show (M0arPyl0ns)"
so hyped for friday's moca show, the possibility of seeing revered green and defeat has me over the moon.
thanks for all the reviews and thoughts from people who have been already.

Felt their were some sound issues, mids and mid-highs were piercing esp on geos stuff and vocals, like there was some weird gate on them. Could have used more low end all around.
But I’m not complaining. What an inspired set list. Things are a little different on the skiffs stuff too. Geo did a fat low sawtooth solo on DS instead of that high sound he’s been using. Cherokee bridge is more aggressive, I feel (but I was on drugs) and the vocoder sounds more milky. Even have a cool little outro for in the flowers. Also shifting around the set list order like this just allows for completely different ways of feeling/grooving to the songs.
I was so nervous with excitement about defeat. Almost worried. But damn they pulled off a 20 minute ambient ballad in a packed club. Philly loves the AC and everyone around me was into it.
Too much to mention. applesauce, dubby and dank. Liking Stride for the first time. Being kind of mad they didn’t play reverend green. The best AC t-shirt they’ve had in years.

Going to edit this to "as many AC shows as human endurance allows" as I've missed a lot of AC shows in the past and now is not the time to be missing these You're going to be blown away tomorrow Leaf_Dwelling

During at least the first two songs someone's mic was screeching horrible grating feedback pretty sure it was Panda, I hope any recordings that surface weren't too badly affected

The bones are still there but it’s a whole different sonic pallet from CHZ. Also avey has messed with the melody a bit, in a cool way.

Me too! grating high pitched feedback noises are great for iPhone recordings maybe? I told myself “this is just like Danse!” Lol

thank you so much!!!
lmao what are these new kings walk lyrics?
"this whole world is almost getting cooked
this whole world is tougher than it looks
hold hands"
also the new stride rite has a lot of lyric changes. the old part that went "ayyyyy" and then "stayyyy" now has a bunch of words. super pretty and i like what they did with the variations in the chorus

listening to this Phili boot... man my love of this band is uncontainable. as good as Time Skiffs is, these songs really come alive in the live setting ... Screens live was brain-melting. can't wait to hear Applesauce.
best (live) band ever.
really love how they're doing the Cherokee outro live! maybe i missed it, but i'd never heard them do that drone to end the song live before.
and the transition from Cherokee into Broke Zodiac was transcendent
some extra piano flourishes in "Broke" - i'm sure those are on the recorded version; they're so good -- elevates the song
love how they're ending "Chores" on this tour... those abstract guitar accents are really beautiful
not sure how many agree, but "Defeat" has only gotten better with every passing day/tour. it's actually really hard to imagine a day where we might be able to listen to a studio version of this song.

I had the time of my life at Richmond but seriously, there was a group of drunk dudes right next to me who just would not shut up. One of them wasn't even facing the stage.

Unbelievable to me that people don't understand (or care) that even though the band is playing incredibly loud if someone is shouting next to your ear it's still going to affect the listening experience. In Philly a bunch of people were laughing at King's Walk and it ruined the atmosphere of such a beautiful slow paced track

Does anyone else hear a Leaf House tease at the beginning of Applesauce and Turn into Something at the beginning of Purple Bottle or am I connecting too many dots

So tempting but I'm gonna hold out for a quality record and probably fill any gaps if I need to later

I know everyones tired of the Beach Boys Comparison (so am I), but fuck me if Genies Open doesn't sound like something from the Smile album, especially the end part, it sounds a whole good deal like Cabin Essence.
Also that person doing the Dolphin cackle in the boot made me laugh a bunch as I kept hearing it throughout the boot.
