That sounds great especially because I have no idea what Caddyshack is

You’re in for a freakin treat. Pour a stiff one and bask in the lost art of humor, which is, sadly, now banned in America.

Random AC thoughts for the day:
These guys went from Golden Gal to Airpipe (to a New Transition) on consecutive albums.
These guys are shaping up to release the greatest work of their career (Defeat) over 20 years in.
I often wonder if K.C. Yours had been a full band track whether it could have reached Rev Green levels of awesome.
The era after TS? Like, what?!
I wish Boneless was on Spotify. It might be Noah's best melody ever.
The Outlaw is one of my favourite aggressive Dave songs.

My guess is that Gaspar is a fan of the band, and that the video itself wasn't very budget-heavy... Still love it though haha

Yeah I always wondered how they could afford to get a guy to film a woman sexily eating fruit in front of some lights that seem designed to induce seizures

fruit is pretty expensive, I was not surprised to see that the video is among the most costliest of all time

i'm thinking about this new Beatles doc "Get Back" and wishing AC would let a film crew in for their recording sessions for Time Skiffs 2. how legendary would that be... for the material to come. i mean, just imagine watching them talk about and record "Defeat"!

Would anyone be interested if I started up a series of polls to find out the boards favorite bootlegs from each year? Starting with 2021 and working backwards

This would be fun and could end up being a good resource. I had to make my own spreadsheet a few years ago to keep track of stuff because whenver someone asks what a good boot from ____ era is everyone just throws out a million names and you're still stuck just picking something at random. Maybe not a problem for anyone on this board but for someone looking for like one good show it's a bit overwhelming ya know

How do you make a poll on here?

Nice idea!
Start a NEW TOPIC then the option for a poll is at the bottom

is it just Skiffs hype and an impending new release or is there something in the air that seems to have more of us buzzing on not just new AC but AC in general rn???
I just blasted thru most of PW and now listening to Sun Drop Magicians, and tend to hit them up daily now ever since Prester single or so. And 10s of us are revisiting the old shit which I might join in on soon
As for PW I think it might be that now that we know a more vibey, sometimes more chilled psych rock epic is coming, its almost easier to re-appreciate a hyper-active, digitized, cheeky, smart-aleck songwriting auteur LP like PW. The only complaint I have about that record is that I think in headphones, my ears tire a bit of some of the synth sounds, but damn that thing mostly owns. Some of their best melodies, kill me.
Anyway. What's going on here. Why does all AC rock harder than ever before in late '21. I don't usually listen to a ton of AC consistently like I do now. What is it, 2009?
also: Have no idea if Cherokee or Magicians is the best Skiffs era track, but I DO know that Broke Zodiac is the 2nd place

i feel it too, dio. this is fast approaching 2009 levels of dizzied, sick-to-my-stomach anticipation, but in some ways it's even more special, because they've (and we've) BEEN THERE already, and a decade+ on we're returning to this mountain top, and it's like climbing an old friend in search of re-connection with something divine...all this waiting and longing for the stars (all four friends) to align once again, to band together and explode in unison right before our very eyes & Hearts...
i'm not sure what's going on here, but that magic i feel just thinking about AC recording TS2 in NY while preparing to drop Skiffs in a few months is an overwhelming gift & pleasure & i feel like i'm just buzzed and blasted these days whenever i think of living in This History, in this moment of preparation for the next years of AC, which will go down as some of the most awe-inspiring years in their history, and ours, as fans. it's a real gift
big credit to foxtrot for initiating a listen-along to their discography, but also none of this would feel as special if everyone wasn't coming together and participating and just pouring out their feelings and passion and love. it's been a treat to be a part of -- true hype is built by communities, and we're feeding off that shared excitement and love and intrigue

god DAMN ya'll are some poetic motherfuckers. But yeah there's something real fuckin electric in the air with them rn. I've been a chill fan of theirs since Sung Tongs, would throw on that or Feels when I was feeling squirrely, loved them dearly. But man when I heard that Big Sur recording, they booted me off the cliff.

Cute little story:
At dinner tonight my wife said that she loves our kids as much as every person on the planet stacked on top of one another. One of my kids asked whether she loves me slightly more than them and she replied:
“I love Daddy the same amount, just in a different way. It’s like if all those people were purple”.
Then she looked at me to check that I’d got the reference.
It was pretty fucking gorgeous.

Man, watching the Beatles “Get Back” special I can’t help but to desperately NEED one for AC. What era would y’all to have 8 hours of rehearsal and studio footage of? for me I’d love to see them rehearse for the 2004-05 tours and seeing them workout the feels guitar tones and bringing out the samplers for the first time and putting delays on the drums and things like this — sounds absolutely insane

Scott Colburn had a great idea when we were recording Strawberry Jam. He set up a video camera to take short clips of footage once a minute for the whole time we were in the studio. This is the unedited result. Our tracking session for Strawberry Jam in Tucson at Wavelab Studios in 2007.

jeremy hyman mentioned playing "some very special @anmlcollective adjacent music that's been brewing for some time now" on today's o'brien system. wonder what that'll mean.
