I'm hoping that they release more soundboard concerts from the tour like they did for Painting With. And perhaps they get some more out as well from the archives they have. And somebody does a Time Skwiffs (a la RePainting With).
^yo, I forgot about repainting with. Does anyone have that?

To add to this, does anyone have the New Centipede either? I think axeworld did both

(to add to this,)
Does anyone have the full album stream for enter the Slasher House? It just got taken down. Blind Babe video was the best thing to ever happen.
I am loving this fleshed out version of Genie's. I wasn't as comfortable with the transition from the acoustic ST tour version (which I loved) to the recent tour boots but this studio practice version is a delight. Also this new What's on the Road It's Shining was unexpected but welcomed.
Cherokee sits fine with me, but I'll agree with preferring any time ac are emotive (re: Mercury Man), which typically appears on tour for them. They absolutely put out 110% energy in live performances. I get that they tone it down a bit for recordings... That's gotta be tough on them to have to make something concrete and in a "finished" form when they like to continually play with songs and evolve them. It's what keeps me so wrapped up in boots I suppose, it's that unique experience and variance.
It took a bit for me to accept We Go Back, I really liked Bolder, but it's growing on me just fine. Felt the same when Derriere became K.C. Yours, that one really hurt me and I never fully healed from the new adaptation.
Still a bit nervous about Passerby though. That one is already perfect.
It's cool that people still talk about these to this day, sucks that YT is so fuckin' anal about music.
There's some goodies in this folder apart from those 2 tho. I was making a Buoys + Homies rework. Never finished it tho. Also a Spirit remaster that I did. It's a bit different than just EQ touch-ups, so I do recommend checkin that one out, especially Penny Dreadfuls.
On the topic of this new recording, definitely feelin that Cherokee a lot more. I get it if you feel that it sounds kinda flat, but if you compare Prester John here to the studio version it's night and day. I wholeheartedly believe that they'll make Cherokee justice.
Yeah highly agree with AxeWorld on the Blast PJ -- So much less energy than the single we got. We have nothing to worry about with Cherokee . . . except no more autotune

Thank you so much!! and totally agree-- this version of Cherokee is definitely just a sampler of what to expect on the album, but I can't stop listening to it either. it is absolutely hypnotic

Agree with this wholeheartedly.
I stayed away from the 2019 boots and just heard the 2019 Cherokee for the first time today. Wow. What a song. That might end up being my favorite version. And I don't think that disparages the album version, whatever it ends up being. Basically, I've come to peace with the idea that my favorite AC magic from the last 5-10 years has tended to come from boots. Any magic they're generous enough to give us at this point is worth celebrating.
I just wish I still had my mp3 player. Not as easy to replace, say, album Taste with a 2007 version these days.
also love following boots and feel its an integral part of loving this band. ultimately though, its the studio albums that get the most replay over the years for me. for better or for worse. i guess the studio stuff is also just easier to play around other people too.
listened to the second blast session again today and really tried to vibe with new cherokee.
firstly, prester john here is pretty chill. being back to back in the same rehearsal session, the vibe in the room that day must have just been like that.
anyway, i feel like i managed to feel more energy from it than previously. getting used to the lack of autotune (which i thought was really playful, unique and thrilling). enjoying the more widescreen americana kinda feel. love how Spirit sounding the synths are in the little chorus bit. Also enjoyed lots of the textural elements during the build up. treated vocals, rattles, lots of awesome rim shots from panda, deakin and avey bouncing off each other, some kind of harpsichord type sound. there is a lot to love here.
TLDR - i think i'm finally sold now. can't wait for the studio version

they really do seem like a bizarro grateful dead in that sense
not that studio dead sucked (in my opinion of course...) but where they were all about the live experience, ac is all about the deep home listening in your living room vibe
it's probably just a reflection of their own backgrounds as music fans, and having those big '90s matador, etc. releases be so important to how they make their music together, but it's an interesting thing to think about nonetheless
I defo also listen to their albums the most for convenience, completeness, sound quality and because they're also absolutely brilliant and life changing but I also think very few of them are as good as the live stuff. More soundboards, please, Animal Collective.
Ehhh daylight saving mother fucking o clock gregorian bullshit. I wake up at 5, I can't be fucking around til ten o clock. I'll be in bed watching some Norwegians train driver video or get my ASMR prom queen make up done.

yeah, for sure, their live shows have changed my life and i'm so ready to see them for the first time since 2009(!), but their studio releases have always felt like their "definitive" statements of the live material. you can tell by how much time, care and attention go into them that they really want to nail down a certain sound and tell a specific story that they can't necessarily replicate live, and i appreciate that a lot, even if sometimes the live versions come out being the superior ones, like safer
I bet either: Stride ---> Defeat, or Stride ----> Passer-by -----> Walker -----> ? (I know how bizarre it is to predict radio broadcasts of rehearsal sets while its happening)
The drums in stride right live sounded enormous and I feel like none of the boots were able to capture it. This sounds amazing though, exactly what I needed
