listening to Bros by Panda Bear. I like nice songs that express complex platonic ideas

One of my favourite lyrics in all of AC.
Bros is still top 5 for me.

If that song was meant for Deakin I think the owl is a clue <3

I've been quite out of the loop and haven't heard any of the bootlegs from the last years. What's up, is the new record on the horizon?
Spinning Centipede Hz now, need to get the hype going. I remember when it came out. In 2012 me and my new (first) girlfriend were in Cannes when it freebirded. I downloaded it immediately to my HTC-phone, put on my headphones and kindly explained to her even though we were newly in love I needed to be in my own head for an hour. We both walked to the beach, me intensely listening like some psychopath not talking, and both got burned pretty bad.
I loved the album, loved her and now things are different. But still great, yeah yeah yeah.
take care / glenn

Hello glenn! Yeah wrt to the new record, basically as of last month they've given a couple interviews stating that it is very nearly done. No official news yet but at this rate I think most people are bracing for an announcement by at least mid-late summer hopefully.

I'm Not has some of my favorite lyrics.
I read that it was about the fear of becoming a parent. I feel that this line sums it up really well.
"I'm not ready for it, but then would I ever be"
The next verse seems to be about not knowing what to name the child.
"No name for it, as you come we'll name each after it's way"
Then he ends it with a really sweet and positive image of humanity.
"As with all else, any piece has its place and form to fill"

Coldplay, by comparison, feels like someone throwing a burrito on your windshield: Their songs hit with a jolt, instantly splaying all their ingredients before you.

I have a weird feeling, based on nothing at all, that PB's next solo/non-AC album will feature his first song sung entirely in Portuguese. Also that he'll be drumming on it...regardless of whether it's the panda band concept or not. He seems to be doubling down on the drumming lately (2019 AC, Maria Reis, WOO! (I think?)), and a percussion-centric Panda record would be sooo dope!

Anyone else have Chores in their top 3? feel like it's super underrated
the vocal harmonies in the second half are insanely beautiful

I've recently been obsessed by the 1-2 punch of Mysteries and Chores. The back half of Chores is pure bliss.

Has to be my favorite sequencing moment in all of ACs discography. And Chores has totally been in my head recently

The end of chores and straight into “for reverend green”.
It’s nice to revisit strawberry jam. So many great memories.

SJ is probably the weirdest (sonically & compositionally) AC have gone while still remaining in that top tier of songwriting they sometimes reach

I'd die to hear the original recorded version they scrapped.

I just thought they did a different mixing session for the vinyl

Ah dang I thought they tracked a lot of the songs twice. Still, the original/alternate mix would make for an interesting listen!

Psyched, hope merriweather ends up being one of the not yet announced outdoor shows. Not a bad pitchfork lineup overall this year tho.
Also wondering if this means they're planning on the album being out by September...

It's a small thing but neither Avey or Deakin posted about the p4k show on their instas. Almost as if there's some bigger news coming... Upgrading my feeling to some kind of announcement this week

I caught the AC / FlyLo show there in 2012 and it was mind-bending in all the best ways, despite the abysmal crowd. I remember them throwing some real stank on Peacebone.
