The electric tantrum that rips apart Water Curses (6:45)
and culminates with Avey's screaming fit
(7:48: SCCCCCUUUUUAAAAH..H..H..H...H..H...WAAA..A..A..A..A..A..A..)
fed through that reverb/delay
as the drums overpower everything,
calm the storm
and lead us directly into the Floridada sunshine.

I can't for the life of me remember which show this is, but I like the little exchange where Avey asks the crowd "how's everyone doing tonight", someone shouts back "HOW ABOUT YOU", and Avey seems taken aback when he answers "uh, yeah, we're good!" Positive heckling!

The middle jam of Turn Into Something (2:40 - 5:00) needs it's own dance party. It's a funky blast.

a famously mistagged show, wrongly dated to 2004 for years. it was my favorite AC boot for a long time

speaking of Feels boots, i'd say the out-of-tune/misplayed People in Lobot 2004 is so weird and dark. it's especially weird because it starts out correct and then moves to the wrong version... possibly intentional? someone in a bad mood that night maybe?

Thought Avey apologized about the sound after People. Something to the effect of "A lot of bands playing tonight".

Yes i finally found it. Its at the 430-440 section. I imagined it a hair different in my head but then when i heard it i was like finally this is the closest thing to it that it might as well be it. It is it just sounded better the way i remembered. Anyway its the Calvin boot 2017 Summertime Clothes ...

They sure did conjure some magic on those PW tours. Summing the Wretch into Floridada on the Brooklyn Steel boot strikes a similar zone for me too.

yeah 2017 was fucking nuts..the energy they had for the last part of lying in the grass, the breakdown, it was like holy shit wow. im sad its not in the studio but it must've been something they found while jamming it out after the fact.

I hope a live library launches some day. So many technicolor moments of euphoria in those PW shows.

Thanks for posting about that show guys, somehow I missed it. I am listening to it now, I think Moogfest is my favorite from the PW era (which incidentally happened right before this show) but maybe this will be better!

this is now the latest recording of a pre-MPP show from a late 2006 australian tour, pretty much halfway betweent Rock Herk and Wexner Center (!). i imagine this is a pretty emotionally driven period for the band being the last shows with deakin for a few years? pretty much the same setlist as the summer 2006 tours i think. this sounds terrific! dark and kinda spacey. intense for sure
https://archive.org/details/acollective2009-05-25
i know a lot of people love the 2009 sets but it's not a particularly interesting period for me. this is a standard setlist from that period, maybe a little short? no brothersport or banshee beat
https://archive.org/details/acollective2013-01-23
another (less critical) gap filled by an australian show. looks like an identical setlist as their shows from november-december 2012 bootlegs (which includes a nyctaper recording and two-sails so hard to believe this is going to replace those)

Bless whoever mixed together the Feeling Store but it always gets me that in the intro to DYSTW you can hear someone in the audience shouting for We Tigers

i've pointed this out on the subreddit before but in 2008 lux fragil during the daily routine ending drone, they trigger a sample of someone saying "mr. bear, have you seen my singing voice anyplace?" it's from the same kid's cartoon as the "my singing voice is gone" sample at the end of alvin row, and it's pitched down to make the kid sound older, still looking for his singing voice eight years later. intensely fucking magical and sad, strange more people don't mention it since it's one of the most universally loved bootlegs
