In case anyone's missed it, dance avey dance recorded an Avey Tare show last week and I took a shot at remastering it. Check a look.

i haven't added the DC show but the UD and Public Records recordings are in the OP. i have three new songs so far, [Standing in Line] from the UD show, [Little Hands] (cricket song) from all of the boots so far, and whatever that chilly song's about. i tagged it as two songs (Chilly Blue / [Beautiful Things We Find]) because i can't hear anything in common between the two, although i don't know the saturdays lyrics well enough to know if it's also recycled material. happy to retag if any consensus turns up.

'Twas the 420 before Christmas, when all through the net
Not a user was stirring, not even to vent;
The animals were collected around the world with care,
In hopes that LP 11 soon would be there;
The Painters were nestled all snug in their beds;
While sounds of Tongs sang in their heads;
And Avey in his beanie, and Panda with his drum,
Had just melted our brains and made our Fall hum,
When out of the blue there arose such a sound,
I sprang to the forum to see what was found.
On to the download, oh what a seeker,
Threw on my cans or turned up my speaker.
The sparkle and sheen of the fresh new tune,
Gave me new life and made my soul swoon.

Happy Holidays everyone! Here's my recording of the boys at the Henry Miller Library in Big Sur. I think the quality is absolutely gangbusters and a great document of the mini-tour. Also included openers Dustin Wong and Takako Minekawa's set too. Enjoy!

Thanks to everyone for the recordings! I remember discovering the concert recordings on a previous iteration of the board and how exciting it was to hear live versions of Fireworks with LaBlakely Dress or Essplode or the reworked version of Chocolate Girl. I think I listen to live stuff more than I do the records and I really appreciate the trouble everyone goes to record and mix them!

Is there any way of knowing whether all the videos that used to be at bansheebeat.com are out there somewhere else, or are some lost to time? The page was seriously never once archived on archive.org. Maddening.

And also why that domain was parked in 2004 lmfao

yeah that's weird it was never archived. i feel like i remember seeing it but i probably just remember when it was actually all up

i sorta have the sense we didn't lose anything from bansheebeat.com though. i think enough of the board (including me) was downloading stuff from there that it got rehosted when i migrated. reading through the CA3 archive (http://collectedanimals.org/ca3/t309.html) it does look like some stuff has slipped through the cracks though. anyone have the 2004 cambridge show for example?

Funny, I was just hoping that site was still around. It had links to full DVD-R files of both Starlight Ballroom Philadelphia, PA 03 22 06 & Starlight Ballroom Philadelphia, PA 2007. Does anyone have those? They are on page one with YouTube links, but quality isn't as nice.

Sure enough I was watching it again and I'd never paid attention to the fact that there's an email at the beginning. I shot them an email asking to send me the iso for preservation. The DVD is 14 years old but maybe, just maybe the guy still checks that email.

Also, I meant the 2006 is my favorite video, not that the 2007 isn't great. Either way, I'm praying.

Seems like the Rehearsal Recording Geo dropped in December kind of flew under the radar. It's been ripped and youtube'd. Stunning stuff, I never listened to the boot out of quality worries. Don't sleep on this!

Someone on Reddit messaged Avey on IG about Little Hands, Avey calls it The Bog. Didn't know anyone recorded this!

i think that's a great midnight special imo at new york, 10 minute long combination of everything that made mothlight great and everything that makes new midnight special great, with some added elements like a vocoder. fuck i shoulda went...it is at least a real combination of both old and new, i think the one at the university of delaware was the jazz chord poopy version, but that show also had a fkn amazing saturdays

This is sick

Assume the drumloop won't be shipped but is really intricate sounding. Chorus is lovely

i've apparently missed a few old sets added to archive.org in the past year or so. i'll tag and reupload these for the OP but for now the links:

https://archive.org/details/acollective ... ankingamps
this is now the latest recording of a pre-MPP show from a late 2006 australian tour, pretty much halfway betweent Rock Herk and Wexner Center (!). i imagine this is a pretty emotionally driven period for the band being the last shows with deakin for a few years? pretty much the same setlist as the summer 2006 tours i think. this sounds terrific! dark and kinda spacey. intense for sure

https://archive.org/details/acollective2009-05-25
i know a lot of people love the 2009 sets but it's not a particularly interesting period for me. this is a standard setlist from that period, maybe a little short? no brothersport or banshee beat

https://archive.org/details/acollective2013-01-23
another (less critical) gap filled by an australian show. looks like an identical setlist as their shows from november-december 2012 bootlegs (which includes a nyctaper recording and two-sails so hard to believe this is going to replace those)

Yeah that’s it! I guess it’s not really that similar to playing the long game, just remembered it differently when I first heard it a while back. Hope it gets released at some point..
thanks!
