sounds great so far and we still have the og version so it's all good for those who are not into it.

all of these songs sound slightly worse compared the the OG versions...he pulled a jabberwocky and improved the shit out of these, the cool long intros are all gone, the vox sound a little more tame, the bass is almost non-existent in POTM...bummer man....
That's just the nature of a fairly bog standard vinyl rip, to be honest. Bit boomy, bassy. If that's what you're used to then this is going to sound thin.
Generally, I would be right with you but the bass was blown out on the rip.

vinyl mixes of AC releases have always been better than the digital mixes.
regardless, still glad this is finally on streaming so my pb friends who only listen through music services can finally hop on board with this sick release.

Still not actually on Spotify in Europe which is a pain. I don't like listening to music through YT.

Only listened to first three but ya they rip. What a treat! Don't see how anyone could see anything other than Flight and Math being hugely improved

ohhhh noooo what the fuck did he do?!?!!?!!?! this makes me uncomfortable. not down
wheres the atmosphere and texture? these feel kinda empty.
WHATS THE BEST RIP OF THE VINYL AGAIN? the one i have has a skip during POTM and now im reminded I need a better rip
edit: i guess its fun we ahve 2 versions. but as i keep preaching that homies is the best AC related released in years i would hate for new converts to listen to this mix first

I dont wanna judge this too quickly just based off one listen, but my first impression that I really don't like any of the changes and I def prefer the OG versions. I love the extra space of the full intros and outros and I love the super blown out production (whether that's intentional or just from the vinyl rip - but I love how the actual record sounds too)
That being said I'm still really happy this got released - the visuals are sweet and these songs are some of his best so they deserve to get the digital treatment. It's not like they actually sound bad, I'm just so used to the original mixes that hearing it so clean and transparent is kinda jarring. honestly I've prob just listened to too much 100 gecs and other shit with obnoxious distorted beats

no the vinyl has that kind of low fi blown out feel. obviously the bass is much smoother in the vinyl but it still has that rough "crashy" feel to it. everything hits harder. this is too clean for me. ESP nod to the folks

It feels sorta like new remasters of older records (Beatles, etc.) where each element is crystal clear so strictly speaking it "sounds better." It's like tasting every ingredient separately in a stew rather than tasting the combination of flavors they create.
Super cool there are two versions out there now. I love the accompanying videos and feel like it's what we've been asking for since the insane live visuals during PBVSGR! ....But MAN I can only take a little at a time before feeling seriously overwhelmed and sick.

this is nice to have yeah but i’ve done kind of a 180 since last night - these songs deserve to be as blown out as they are on the vinyl and i might have just wanted that but louder? Part of the Math, the best song he’s ever written, sounds like a cover?

the vocals at the beginning of part of the math are... unfortunate

This is glorious. Maybe it’s just my system (Sonos Playbar, 2 Sonon Play1s, and Sonos Sub) but the mixing is pristine and the bass fuckin’ SLAPS. The crickets and gusts of wind on the intro to Flight were totally buried on the vinyl rip, and other moments like the harmonies on Math and Folks are polished to sonic perfection. I’m surprised anyone prefers the vinyl rip to this mix. This is that definitive edition shit.

Doesn't sound bad, but will take some getting used to. Really like the way the vocals sound in Flight, I always thought they sounded kind of lifeless in the vinyl rip.

Idk what people are complaining about. It sounds exactly like something that's meant to be played through laptop speakers would sound.
I probably prefer the vinyl mix but I haven't listened to this one close enough to have an opinion yet. Sounds good, though.

It's not gone, bro. It still exists on vinyl. You just gotta learn to hear the song differently or listen to the other mix instead.

i kinda like the punch of the kick taking its place though
my only complaint is how the bass on Sunset is much less gritty and how it decays more quickly vs the vinyl

I have the vinyl and I have vinyl rips. It'd be nice if the most convenient way to listen to it wasn't so dramatically different.

Sunset definitely stronger on the vinyl, which is a shame. But the peacock addition is so good hahah

right now i think flight and shepards tone sound a lot better than the vinyl, nod to folks sounds about same, sunset sounds way better on vinyl, lost the flanging effect on the hats at the beginning and the breakdown isnt as spastic, i think its lacking something., and part of the math theres no contest. math on vinyl has OOMPH, digital doesnt reeally have it. but flight and shepards tone bro, those songs got the level up !
also the visuals for sunset are AMAZING.
edit: flight's bass is so prominent, where is it in part of math or sunset ?
