it's 24 minutes of new music from Avey and Geo
a sequel to New Psycho Actives Vol 1

god this fucking rules, exactly what I needed and the promise of a fall b-side is very comforting as well.

Side A of New Psycho Actives Vol.2 is up on soundcloud now! Link in our bio. Calling this one “Summer Blaze” and wanted to get it out while there was still some summer left to enjoy. Joint effort by Avey Tare and Geo together this time as opposed to a split. Getting some sounds ready to play for you come Autumn as well. In the meantime, hope this hangs well in the humidity.

Wow, so lushly, slushy, and reverby. Anyone else getting Replica vibes at times? if this anywhere near the vibe for the next LP we're in for a treat.

What a piece. That middle section was something else. That brassy sounded heavy. Great stuff. Thank you collective of the animal ...

Listened to this part again, it's unreal. The production reminds me of Feels and even HCTI at points. I'm imagining Defeat with this kind of production and losing my mind. No guarantee of how much relation this has to the Music Box material, obviously. But it does somewhat remind me of certain parts of the Music Box stuff, the way it's just this slow moving thing with really dramatic chord changes.

Those sounds which almost seem like cries are super engaging. And that wonderful transition into like a 60s circus on acid is just wonderful. Perfect from start to finish.

that sad robot voice in the song at 7 minutes made me think of the dying robot in untitled off of spirit. i'm crossing my fingers that their next album has this kind of processed sound / melodramatic contrast

Definitely into this. I hope they put out a tape or LP with all 4 tracks. I still think Stretching Songs For Spring is my favorite in this series.
I doubt these are any indication of how new AC is gonna sound. These are free-form pieces composed probably very similarly to how they did Tangerine Reef/Transverse Temporal Gyrus stuff.
I could be wrong though and wouldn't be disappointed to be! Love all the gems we keep getting year after year.

near the end kinda reminds me of safer, and there's a little vocal effect that sounds just like search for delicious... I love it

this is UNIMAGINABLY beautiful. holy shit. if this is at all indicative of the direction they're heading with the next album, i am so on board. even if it isn't, this is a hauntingly gorgeous piece of music.
this is like, posted up on the deck at sunset, beer in hand, watching the breeze flow through the trees music. the gang's still got it.

Is there a chance of this being released on a 12"? The whole "Side A" thing makes it sound like they're planning a vinyl release.

They used the same language for vol. 1 though. They also specifically released vol. 1 that way because of samples they couldn’t clear the samples. Would love a white label release like with the original purple bottle

Very much enjoyed my first listen in the car, going to give it more time to grow, though. Some very intriguing sections, promising spaces they're working in.
