Ugh, that turned bad quick for me, this guy behind me was harassing this poor girl all night and really purposefully bumping into me and shoving me really aggressively. The show had such a nice and strange vibe--reminded me of some of the otherworldly eeriness I felt with early centipede hz boots--but more subdued.

I usually buy an extra ticket so I can make a friend go with me to these but didn't this time and regret it. This agro bro really fucked me up .______.

If the group of perfectly lovely people who I kept getting thrown into are on here: I'm sorry <3

Gave my recording (Mothlight) to a friendly Reddit user last night to cut up into tracks as I've never done anything like that before. Hopefully it will be up today. Sorry for taking so long :)

Edit - Guess I should've mentioned that he plans on posting it here.

anyone heading to the Amsterdam in St. Paul this weekend?

We'll be heading north from Iowa. I've been to plenty of concerts in Minneapolis, but weirdly never one in St Paul. Not sure what to expect from the Amsterdam, but I'm excited nonetheless!

Same. Although I'm from Southeast MN, I'll be traveling up from Des Moines on Sunday. I've never been to the Amsterdam, but my husband has played a show there before and said it's cool.

Spoiler: show
Checking out that boot and I am having a hard time adjusting to the Enjoy the Chance rework. It gets circusy in a way that feels like it's clashing harshly or that it's trying to introduce a new melody that should be an independent song. I liked the 2017 tour version so much more. Hoping it'll open up for me when I get to hear it live. But holy smokes on When You Left Me.

I believe Pioneer Works internally records all of their own shows, so we've never been invited there.

does anyone going to future shows have any financial availability to purchase both tour shirts for me and ill send them money to ship it + the money they spent + a COHP poster from the record store + some other goodies? i'd do anything for those shirts and i can't go to any shows due to location and whatnot.. I know it's a tough shot, but if anyone can hook me up i'll make it very much so worth it for you.

Anyone heard of the toronto opener, Lipsticism before? I was pleasantly surprised by Nathan Bowles performance so i decided to check out Avey's other choices for supporting acts. Shocked to see she's only got 45 monthly listeners on spotify, cause i'm really liking what i'm hearing so far

I actually went to the same college as the singer for awhile, and she just got into the Chicago art scene really deep when she moved over there. She hasn't done many live shows and only has one album under her belt, but I'm super stoked she got this opportunity because she's been getting better and better with every song I hear and this will probably give her more impotus to make more music. Did anyone end up recording that set BTW?

Thank you! Pretty happy with them. What time do you think the opener will start? I saw doors open at 7, but some people have been saying Avey's been coming on as late as 10:15...

I don't want to complain because the show in of itself was incredible, but I really hated Deluxxx Fluxxx. Sort of. The sound was exceptional, but the stage is like lower than the crowd lol I couldn't see Jeremy for the entire set, and I'm six feet tall. idk

met up w josh and dave after the set, they're both the biggest sweeties ever and i got a goofy pic with deakin

a few thoughts:

1: setlist from last night (st. paul):
Spoiler: show
what's the goodside?
hors_
taken boy
eyes on eyes
when you left me
remember mayan
enjoy the change
kc yours
nostalgia in lemonade
heads hammock
chilly blue
saturdays (again)
2: was a big fan of the live sound, especially mayan, goodside, eyes, lemonade, and kc yours. few songs were solid, but there's always one song that doesn't translate particularly well each tour and it was def saturdays for me. not bad by any means but with how massive a lot of the tracks sound live i was a little underwhelmed by saturdays. overall killer show tho deakin bringing the harmonies filled my heart with joy

3:
Spoiler: show
reworks were good. heads hammock had the crowd rolling, when you left me was an interesting reggae sounding version of it that i don't particularly love or hate
4: venue was great and i ran into some people from the board/spiritposting and they were all chill as hell, was a great time

5: got to hang out with the opener after the show for a while and pick her brain, lipsticism was super good and she's a big time chiller too go support your openers and if they're good be a boy and buy their merch!!

(setlist spoilers in this post)

forgot to post earlier but the Chicago show was so amazing, venue was pretty cool intimate space. I was also a big fan of the live sound and the setup for this tour. it almost felt like a weird garage-y psych rock version of AC at times. Enjoy the Change was such a fucking jam, the end of the song got into some Nothing Ever Happened territory, so wild. Deakin's gutiar and backup vocals were an amazing addition to these songs, and in some of the slower moments when Avey and Deak were both on guitar you could hear some of the Feels guitar sound coming through, it was beautiful

I loved this version of When You Left Me. always cool when Avey brings out the dub influence to the forefront of the music and Jeremy's minimal drums were perfect, almost reminded me of the quiet parts of That It Wont Grow
