Desert Daze posted an AC poster and mentioned that they can't wait to see them play a 'career-spanning set'
I mean they always sorta do that but I said I'd post it anyways
I deliver news here now apparently

I feel "career spanning set" gets thrown around pretty loosely... iirc the same phrase was used when PB did a boiler room set but he only actually played tomboy and greaper stuff. maybe that won't be the case here! my bet is AC will play 90% unreleased material and one or two oldies

They're just gonna play all of their songs. But fit it into a 90 minute show.

Not too much I would dare to predict but I have the highest hopes for AC this year. Both Dave and Noah seem on tremendous songwriting form, they both seem to have got a few things out of their system over the last couple of years, they seem creatively secure in what they're doing. Noah in particular seems to be more relaxed about writing, recording and releasing, moreso than I've seen from him. The playfulness and variety of the recent sets say a great deal to me.
When I think back to the intensity and rigidity of the Tomboy era (amazing as it was/is, it felt austere and sounds like the result of very hard work), or the self-doubt of the Greaper era (openly saying certain songs were no good, putting so much creative/collaborative control in SB, burying/changing certain songs which had arrived fully-formed in the demos), there's a freshness and lightness and confidence to both Homies and Buoys. Recency bias perhaps but it's great to see, and it's further supported by the fact that he's already taking some new songs in yet another direction.
The bank of Dave's solo and Music Box songs speak for themselves, and Saturdays bodes extremely well.

Can someone explain Abby's IG story? Sounds like another new Avey song. Was there a surprise performance in LA?

Thanks dance, but I didn't think the tour started until March. Isn't that when Big Ears is? The day before the Cows release?
Edit: Also, Abby tagged @lastnightruled in her post which appears to be an LA-affiliated venue. Their bio just says 2/11/17. When I search that tour date, the Union Nightclub in LA comes up.

I think you're mistaken DAD.
Those shows are actually scheduled in March, and TX was a typo, its a festival in Tennessee (TN)

They're off by one month looks like. The Feb dates should be March and the March dates should be April. But anyway, what was last night then? Someone solve this.

Man those are only couple second clips but that song (songs?) sound so crazy and different. I'd be very surprised if it's Cows material, it seems a lot different texturally. I hope this is what the new AC stuff sounds like tbh.

so he basically pulled another mothlight

Yo i was there! It was at this Chinese restaurant in LA. Avey played a short set of unreleased material, said some of it may eventually become AnCo stuff. Panda also played a set, he said it was his last show of the Buoys tour.
They gave out some cool free shirts. Definitely saw abby and maybe Danny Perez there. Wild show
wrote:
He mentioned it wasn’t gonna be like his Cows tour, everything he played was like early demos of new stuff. He hinted it could be early material for the next AnCo project.
The set sounded a lot like Down There and Tangerine Reef, very murky. Also kind of reminded me of Avey’s work in Terrestrial Tones
so he basically pulled another mothlight

^ I like this concept, like the Panda and Geo tour last April... having two solo acts touring together from the dudes is aok with me when they're taking a break from full-band stuff
