Totally! Eucalyptus & MOTW has been some of the well worthily pieces in the last 8 to 10 years. PW was fun, but hard to glorify.
TR is definitely gonna be a hardcore fans favorite no doubt! Maybe I can’t speak for everyone, but I’ve been so ready for a spacey underwater world album!

^agreed. Eucalyptus & MOTW were on constant rotation for me when they dropped. and those avey boots from mothlight and hideout...shiiiite. i feel like dave is definitely in a creative peak with all of that stuff plus this upcoming release and the new awesome AC songs from this spring. so much good stuff!

Gonna be kinda annoying if the record arrives before the video is released online, but I'm trying not to complain. V v v excited

Is anyone else getting an ETA of Monday the 20th for their vinyl? What is up with Domino not shipping their shit out correctly? This happened with Homies too.

Mine says the 20th too but I find that hard to believe. It’s in Michigan, which is only a state away from me ?

I miss the good old days when the actual release gave the record a second wind after being burned out on listening to the freebird for weeks if not months.

this is getting terrible reviews so far, which means I'll probably love it
here's a roundup of the worst ones. pretty much all of them are just complaining that it's not "My Girls"

Have yet to read a thoughtful or well-written review. Who cares

that NME review is particularly bad, as half of the years are incorrect, and the fact that it's written like a satire post from a hipsterrunoff wannabe 8 years ago

Second half rules. Some real beautiful drawn-out soundscapes. Will take a while to wrap my head around the first half

intoxicating and beautiful the whole way through, surprisingly melodic for most of it
it's pretty much exactly what I was hoping for: dark and mysterious but also colorful, strangely sensual
there are some traces of Oddsac and Feels and Down There and maybe even Sung Tongs but on the whole I think this is a brand new sound for them

i have had the record for a little while and listened several times. i really like it, though i feel like as a digital file i haven't really been able to fully connect with it and get into it yet. very excited to get the record this weekend to sit and let it overwhelm me.
have really enjoyed listening to it at quiet times of the day lately though.

very pleasantly surprised by this! i had pretty much written AC off, to be honest, but this is very up my alley. they seem confident in their sound again, something i haven't felt since MPP

This is perfect. So happy to hear the dudes going in a different direction again. The last few albums have been very beat driven (which isn't a bad thing). Nice to hear a change of pace. I wonder how "live" this actually is. If it's truly capturing a performance without too many overdubs then please AC give us more of that! The record doesn't feel stuffed with ideas all at once which is refreshing. Can't wait to experience this with the visuals. I imagine that this is like listening to the ODDSAC audio without watching the film. We're only getting a piece of the puzzle until Friday.
