Tickets for this are like $80 on StubHub. Anyone think that’s worth it?

this is what you call an "antagonistic post adding no value"
(yes...)
---
It's possible I missed it, but I read the thread and didn't see anyone specifically state they were going to the show and recording it.
a) Are any of you going to be filming this?
b) Are any of you going to be recording the audio in any way?
c) Are any of you going to be recording the audio using a setup beyond 'just a cellphone-against-a-wall'?
Domino on YT has removed some of the Desert Daze recordings fans posted of Panda Bear's sets, so I'm hoping we can establish a HQ archive of the shows we see in this era where we can provide high fidelity media immediately in spite of their removal from public viewing

Supposedly Pitchfork is going to live stream the show but afterwards they're just gonna upload one song, not the whole thing. Going off of this post early in the thread
I trust Tropic but not sure where he saw that specifically. We gotta make sure multiple ppl record the stream, audio+video. As far as in-person recording, it's possible Pitchfork won't allow bootlegging if they're doing their own recording

They'll be unable to prevent / wouldn't want to stop people from using their Cellphones though, and the most recent very hq avey/panda shows were from an Iphone iirc. The cellphones have come so incredibly far, if I were able to attend I'm sure my Pixel 2 would capture 90 minutes at 4K res np. I just wont be at the show!
Hopefully there is indeed a live stream, and that'll count for something!

Yeah it's a dick move. It's not hard to film holding ur phone normally, you just have to stand somewhere where you can see between people's shoulders. Unless you're short, in that case just don't film lol
I'm gonna sneak a quick Snapchat vid at this show because I feel I earned that right by buying a plane ticket and then I'm turning my phone off

i had a wild thought.
you know how over the last several tour cycles AC have adapted old songs into their new performance style? wouldn't it be wild if they adapted a newer song into this older performance style?
not that that's gonna happen but makes u think.

the new song adapted into sung tong style is an awesome idea, hopefully they do one or two songs like that, but i wouldn't expect much more because the run time is already gonna be pretty long since besides the album they already said they'll be playing like don't believe the pilot and covered in frogs and stuff

I'd love to see acoustic New Town Burnout, I have always thought it would be pretty good stripped down. I wonder how it will feel for them, performing this way again.

Well that's one way to ensure all of the fans who were relying on that cell phone recording to hear their favorite band will curse you
Congrats lizard on writing such an incredibly effective inflammatory comment! Wow i'm frazzled!

This comment is way shittier than someone expressing annoyance at phone recordings.

From what I understand, P4K is streaming the show so no cell phones will be necessary (even though they are greatly appreciated for those who can't travel to NYC for ((let's hope not!)) a once-in-a-lifetime event.)
All the more reason for all of us to live in the moment at a show, dance your heart out and ignore the behavior of your neighbors.... unless to bounce with them and shout along lyrics that bore into your collective souls, bringing everyone closer together, even if just for a brief, fleeting moment.

ATTENTION: People who are going to try and record the livestream
Here are some links to free screen recording software. All of these are free to use (or at least have free trial versions) and don't have any restrictions on length of recording. Others I found are paid or only allow you to record a certain number of minutes unless you buy the paid version
For recording audio on Mac, I normally use Soundflower, but I downloaded it years ago and apparently it hasn't had a stable release for a couple years, so idk what would be the best option

• ActivePresenter (Mac or Windows)
• FlashBack Express (Windows only)
• Apowersoft Free Online Screen Recorder (Windows only. It's browser-based which seems weird but it should work fine)

It sounds like Pitchfork may only archive one song so we need to preserve this show for posterity. Gotta have several people ready to record in case something goes wrong with one of them

FYI - the boys will be on at midnight, and I believe they wont be playing anything other than the tongs unless that changes last minute.

Haha I figured that'd be read that way on this site. I have to get my shift covered at work so that's why I was asking. Good to hear that it'll be live streamed too, even though it's not as good as being there in-peson.
If only they'd play Prospect Hummer...

thanks for the info. do you know any other set times or details about the event?
the speculation of them playing other tracks from that era came from avey saying they might do some (i believe) so i guess it'd be more off the cuff if anything.

Not gonna happen but this show's reminding me of the great versions of Rabbit and Leaf House that they did in MPP style

Was fortunate enough to catch both of those in ‘09, bring on the acoustics I say!
Touched down in NY this morning and the anticipation for this show is palpable.

i know it's short notice but it looks like i've got two extras to this show to offer up...and i'd rather check-in here first to see if one of y'all can use them before trying other avenues of resale...just looking for face value...PM me with interest

There wasnt speculation if they were going to play extras from the era , Avey said that they we're trying to add them to the set. Im sure how much stage time they are allowed will determine that.

It should be possible if they get 80mins of play time

Maybe spongebob's info just means that they're only playing Sung Tongs-era songs, so Prospect Hummer jams + Frogs/Pilot etc are still on the table. That's what I'm choosing to believe
It's a one time only performance so I feel like Avey mentioning those songs means they'll probably get played. Why else would they bother rehearsing them
