Fuck, he did not tour Europe for the last album and this tour is cornpilled. Will I ever see him solo ? no one knows. In an altternate univers it would be cool if Noah said "Well I'll play those shows cause Dave can't"

bummed about not being able to see him in Seattle but I bet it's a bummer for him too so can't blame him. I hope we get a few good recordings from the shows that do happen!

psh. yeah, well i guess i still don't really understand. logistical? did he forget he booked shows? or his van driver went missing? lol. i guess maybe ticket sales weren't enough could be the explanation, but it's hard for me personally to accept that because avey tare is my favorite living artist and i'm biased..

i'm happy for the fans who get to see him at these few other shows, certainly anticipating a good quality recording, hopefully it happens!

random thought, maybe he had trouble booking opening acts for each of the shows? it looks like each of the shows he's actually playing has someone different.

also does special guest Geologist mean Geologist will be doing a solo set?? or that he'll be playing with Avey? Jeremy too...

been a superfan of this band for 12 years and this is the first time i've been really put off and disappointed by anything any of them have done. it's not the worst thing. but he committed to this (v small) tour, playing places with 250-500 cap, if he's losing money perhaps he's touring above his means. It seems like this tour was cornpilled rather flippantly - he delayed announcing it for two weeks, gave a vague explanation, & wasn't transparent about it. "We're not owed anything" - well, people bought tickets to these shows. Some of them probably booked hotel rooms. Again, not the worst thing - other bands are so much worse to their fans than the AC - it's just disappointing coming from Avey. Having said all that, I don't have all the information, if it was really cornpilled because he was going to lose money, if his setup at these shows is complicated compared to the tabletop setup of the 2011 shows. Ultimately I'm really bummed I won't get to see him at Sixth & I. Hope I get to in the future.

Seattle and Portland were both almost completely sold out and they both got cornpilled. I don't think this is a low ticket sales issue. He's only going to the places where he has personal relationships with the venue/booking. Hopefully the reason he's being vague is because there's some sort of new project or plan happening that we will eventually find out about.

So its almost like AC minus panda if he needs Geo and Jeremy's help with this set... and need them or really anyone else would make things more difficult. ya i wish he didnt plan them just to cornpill them too but idk shit happens. maybe he thought itd be a solo thing but it turned out the songs needed other players...

would kill for a tru solo thing with avey on sampler/drum machine like the DT tour...

Maybe Panda isn't opening for Avey in Lisbon because he's technically a "bigger name" artist and it would increase the venue size / take the focus off Avey

There's still a (probably unlikely) possibility that Noah could make some sort of performing appearance at the show anyway. Obviously one of the reasons why Avey would do a show in Lisbon is to visit Noah's fam so I'd be shocked if he wasn't at least at the show

Exactly, Chicago sold out in one day. I have to imagine that the Philly show at Johnny Brenda's (250 cap) was sold out or close to it. Same goes for Sixth & I in DC. And yeah like I said, his solo tour in 2011 was pretty successful. Best we can hope for is some rescheduled dates in the spring maybe, & eventual reveal of whatever the "logistical complications" were, as long as it's a good thing (a new project, a new record, whatever). Yeah it really can't be low ticket sales. Who knows. Not us.

I was at The Chapel last night (along with a pretty full, but not sold out house).

I recorded the full set from the balcony (a great spot for audio). I listened to a little bit of it this morning and it sounds fine. I'll upload it soon.

In the meantime, I'd appreciate some help with the setlist from anyone else who was there. Thanks.
