wastered takes me to another land like no other. i love the warm crackle of the vinyl (is there a digital version?). the long instrumental section betwixt the vocals, the repitition of the sample interrupted by the bursts of chimes, the uniqueness of aveys voice. i can't say i've heard him do vocals like that anywhere else. what is he singing? i've never thought about it before.
it's great to drift off to on an afternoon couch nap.
i've mentioned my love of this 11 minute gem on here before and it's been met with confusion. but i'm seriously here. wastered is breathtaking.

I've never listened to the whole track but what I did hear sounded absolutely rubbish. I'll give it another go.

good but i dont think the best. i certainly think that it is one of the more unique AC jams, but i dont think it takes the cake for most unique either. I might like the live feels bonus disc version more actually. even though the 12" art is great.

is the 12" version a studio recording or live?

Wastered is little more than interesting. The 2004 Bowery Ballroom performance of it is better than the formally released one

wastered is seriously amazing, I've returned back to it many times since I was first perplexed by it and have found so much to love. I always group it in my mind with the lengthier, more abstract stuff like visiting friends and abyss song and it's just as good as any other. but the competition for "best AC song" is too fierce so I wouldn't go so far as to say it's the best

Avey sounds like the (Heath Ledger) Joker on the live version from that Feels bonus disc

you are mad. i saw them play it live and bought the 12". i've listened to a couple live versions and they are not aaaaaaaaannnyyy where near as good as the studio version. no way.
the poll question had a bunch of double negatives to fool you into saying yes either way. or did i miscount? edit: oh shit i did fuck it up.

yah, i recorded the 08-17-2004 @ the wexner, columbus OH show. it was the first time i had smoked weed in a few years, and as i was only familiar with sung tongs and HCTI, did not expect the acid rock that came. it was fucking INTENSE. i think wastered was my favorite moment at that show. it was so fucking trippy. also did artsplace kentucky and baltimore that year, but the baltimore boot got lost to the ether.

oh man if you ever find it hook us up
also where were you all those years that people were identifying artsplace as being 2004 instead of 2005

The 2004/2005 debacle was all my fault. I was pretty fucking fucked up around that time and misremembered when I upped them. Out of all my boots, the Wexner show is my favorite. It's my favorite venue, great sound, cool architecture, vibey from an all black room, and creature comforts era black dice opened.

No you didn't. Putting "no" at the beginning of the second answer doesn't negate it. That's why I had to change the wording to subvert it with my post.
