Hey CA,

Does anyone speak Polish? Last year I emailed the Malta Festival office asking after the complete video and audio recordings of AC's 2006 show there. But I wrote them in English and never heard back.

I think even the truncated Malta video and audio is:

one of the best pro-shot videos of AC
one of the best live performances by the band
one of the best audio recordings of a show
from maybe the best era of live AC

A full recording could be the live AC holy grail/lost ark/temple of doom (?)

Anyone want to work with me on seeing if the Malta Fest people might have a lead for us? Any of y'all speak polish? Or have any ideas of how best to find the other facets of this gem?

Two high quality recordings of the audio do exist: the version of cuckoo cuckoo which was a bonus track on some versions of strawberry jam, and a recording of safer which was included on a compilation called "Waxploitation Presents: Causes 1"

the video stops in the middle of the set, just as the most epic version of purple bottle is starting. there already exists an audio rip of what we've got.

i'm nervous that the tv broadcast stopped at that point too because it looks like that segment included a cocorosie performance too :/ there might still be video though

lol if anybody has a connect to Gaspar Noe, he might be able to provide some info, as he is actually the director of the show . Before they start Safer, you can hear Avey saying, "Noe, well now we're gonna go into our black hole...", as like a cue for Noe to start getting crazy with the camerawork. He actually makes a lil appearance in the video during Safer or Cuckoo Cuckoo (that's one of his signature moves, to appear in his own film).

I will be attempting to email Gaspar Noe! I wrote to a site that catalogues his work and they gave me an email and a physical address for him. Seems like the kind of guy who might respond!
