Pleasantly surprised by all of the Melody Unfair love. That was maybe my least favorite on first listen but it's been growing on me ever since. Also the auto harp moment on Coral Lords has got to be one of the most beautiful and otherworldly things I've heard on anything AC related in probably years.

God, I need this tonight...what a day.
It's a bit shit to describe music simply by stuff it reminds you of. That said:
- It sounds like the cover looks, one of the greatest ever AC cover/record synergies.
- It reminds me of Dave's bits in TTG, plus stuff like Abyss Song and the Keep cassette, plus some Campfire stop-start bits.
- In terms of immediacy and abstract structure, it really puts me in mind of the last few songs on Sung Tongs, lovely little sections but nothing too direct and something to dive into for the deepest treasures.
- It often evokes classic 60s/70s psych records where the mood is more immediately evocative than the melody.
- It often sounds like nothing Dave has done before, both harmonically, vocally and compositionally.
- I can only image what the next AC record could be if Noah is on a similar page, in terms of approach.
- This record got me cummin so hard that anus puckerin like a goldfish mouth

it reminds me most of prospect hummer, but i think that's because often it sounds more like a vashti bunyan record than an animal collective one.

I didn't even think about how the next animal collective record is gonna sound after this but.......... yeah. :0
I think Lunch out of order pt.2 samples the song "When They Ring Golden Bells," which i know from bud tutmarc, a hawaiian musician. I remember Avey talking about how hawaiian music always calms him down, and there's another hawaiian sample in part one, so it makes sense to me.
Also, no love for DR aw One for J? I just about had a heart attack when I heard those jew's harps, man

Just realised the title is an anagram of JEW DRONE. Must be significant.

If the next AC album just sounds like this album then it won't be new anymore. I don't get it.
I'm assuming/hoping Meeting of the Waters is the closest we'll get to an AC record that sounds like this

Anyone who says "oy very" on the internet these days just sounds like an alt-righter, to put it politely

and honestly that would be perfect, this makes me appreciate Meeting of the Waters a lot more too.
also has a shared solo/band song ever had the band version released first?
