ya is that what he's trying to say or does he mean like no pre- mothlight songs that are live/rarities will be on it...? is that the same thing? idk. that's kind of crazy to me, i had the feeling the mothlight show was basically this album and if those sounded newer and rough-ish it was because it was first time live in the same way they recorded PW and then translated them live for the first time. hm weird. that means like this and then Mothlight-set album in '18/19??? idk...

I assume that the "positively" at the end means: you definitely haven't heard any of these songs before (except the one), even if you were at the mothlight show or listened to a boot

I think he does mean no Mothlight, the wording makes it seem like they're aware of what goes on here and what we've all been wondering
which means we're all in store for a ton of Avey solo in the coming years
^^^this. It's nothing but good news that Eucalyptus is a bunch of unheard jams.

What if since Painting With they've decided never to record songs they already played live before, lol

I can't believe that this is all new music. Wow. I really really hope that the Mothlight songs are released at some point, too. Could this be the oft-referenced longed-for considered-abandoned acoustic album which Dave mentioned a year or so back? The inclusion of Selection of a Place might hint at that.

I ate an entire pizza while reading this thread. I am. So. Hype. But now I'm uncomfortably full, and have some questions. Here are my questions:
1. Have we done any collabing to figure out why the ppl who got the puzzl got the pzzle?
2. How fucking cool is it that (probably) AV is doing goofy cryptic responses on AC's insta?
3. Not a question: second thing I thought was that it was sick that Angel is on the record. DGAF about their personal lives (beyond a general hope they're doing well & happy humans because then they can make art), but they did really rad creative work together & I'm glad their back at it.
Slasher Flixxx was such a unique album, tour, and moment for me personally and AC in general. Really really enjoyed that cycle, in no small part because it felt really punk to listen to raw PBVSGR boots & then listen to Flixxx stuff.
That was like a perfect expectations meets product. They didn't do a huge rollout, did a small tour headlining & supporting shows, dropped the album, and their moment was over. Loved the fuck out of that. Would love Eucalypitissss to be like that too, possibly because I just don't want to wait for another long rollout, but possibly also because of the work ethic Avey seems to thrive in: which is, just working a lot. Hope he tours the midwest. Hope he does after the album drops.demoitis ruins cool ac music but also demo cycles are so fun. The PBVSGR cycle was so goddamn much fun to follow. Dunno how y'all was let down so hard, but some instant gratification might be fun too.
4. All but one new tunes? That's so rad. That's way rad.

woah! I hope the art means its super 60s/70s psychedelic vibe. I could really go for a loose Avey record with lots of bells and percussion.

Yeah so mad that this is all new. Wondering if it will be acoustic. The only lead we have is Selection of a Place but of course the Rio Negro version could be an acoustic version of an otherwise much different sounding song. So I wonder how similar they will be.
The collabs are sweet but again have no idea to what extent they were involved/show up in the songs. Need an announcement innit

If the mothlight songs are canned, they'll probably end up in the same limbo as the 2011 tracks, or get recycled in new versions for the next AC project in a few years. I'm guessing Eucalyptus is a more psych-folk-y excursion on Dave's part given the instrumentation of the collaborators. Would you really expect a string section on songs like "Disc One" or "Uncle Doughnut?"

It's too early to know the fate of the Mothlight songs. They just debuted a little over 2 months ago. The MPP songs were being played live in Spring 2007 before Strawberry Jam came out, so this could be something similar to that

Dudes been a busy bee.
Was on a long car drive yesterday and found myself listening to for the first time in a while stuff like safer, water curses ep, Gotham and a few chz tracks like merc ts and moonjock. Love this dudes range but am currently really appreciating the more exploratory and verbose songs in contrast to those tighter (but still verbose) mpp or pw songs. Dudes got range.. they all do clearly
