Hey guys
I'm so excited that more people are listening to and talking about the boot AND ABOUT THIS NEW AVEY TARE ALBUM!!! wow what a way to reveal an album too. A contender with the bathroom boots for sure
Before we get too far along I feel obligated to note the description for the Mothlight show from the site I bought my ticket on:
CPH Dox was in late March so it's possible these songs have only existed since early March and also when listening to the boot you can definitely tell the songs are mostly still in their infancy. and being that they were part of a collaboration with Abby specifically for CPH Dox it's entirely possible the songs here could be a one-off type of thing just like Coral Orgy, might not even see a release. I have a sneaking suspicion this might be the case but I have a much stronger suspicion that they are likely not going to appear on Eucalyptus and that linking the boots to this new album might be misguided.
it'd be awesome to get trax from that period where avey tare said he was working on like 3 albums simultaneously/when mountain game and slow words were written

That's a great point spoogn, and strengthens my belief that Eucalyptus predates the Mothlight tunes. However I do think we'll see a release of those jams too, just probably not this year.
It's possible that parts of Eucalyptus may date as far back as 2015 when Avey and Angel were both living in LA. There was about a year and half gap when Dave wasn't touring, from late 2014 to early 2016, which could've been the time when he started writing it, along with the tunes for PW and NPA.
Once this current leg of the AC tour is over, hopefully we'll get some concrete info

it seems like avey is pretty committed to releasing most of the music he writes eventually, the more the merrior

Terrible post incoming but I'm glad to see that Dave and Angel are either amicable or together. I'm sure I read that they were no longer together (on this forum).
This is why the band doesn't post here any more.

As terrible as your post was... yeah, that was one of the first things I thought when I saw her name listed
I wouldn't necessarily say that the songs are still very new just because the Asheville show sounded "incomplete." I'd be really surprised if the album wasn't finished, it'd be very unlike AC to send out an announcement with what appears to be the album cover so early before its done

my prediction is that the album is finished and we'll get a real announcement sometime next week. it would be really strange to credit all the contributors on the cover without the tracks being in the final stages
I bet some of the Mothlight songs are on it, but maybe some of the more "incomplete" ones were new and written for that performance. I mean, he played cemeteries so I'm sure he didn't write everything fresh for that one-time show. I'm sure at least a couple will show up on Eucalyptus
I'm hoping the Glasslands stuff shows up on there in some form too but it seems unlikely

I'd be pretty surprised if anything showed up from the 2011 tour or earlier than that
I'm hoping we don't have to wait too long for this to be released. Slasher Flicks was announced less than two months before it came out, so we'll see

Assuming this won't have a huge roll out. I'd say we'll be listening this summer

That's really a Panda Bear thing though, he did the same with Tomboy. Down There was announced very soon before its release.

yeah for sure even if the official title is "Dr Aw One for J" it looks like it's supposed to be at the very least a play on "draw one"
and Draw One for J is way easier to say lol

That's quite surprising because I think the non-album stuff has been their most interesting music of the last few years, going back to the Honeycomb EP. Tape Chants for Winter was good. Mountain Game was good. Kinda Bonkers is the best thing they've put out in a long time (to my tastes).

new psycho actives... PW eps and non album single and Waters ep.... Maya/Mountain... Michael Remember.. grim reaper eps if you count those... sleep cycle... im forgetting stuff but ya i like listing them too, the LPs are the least good part of their output(?) no not really i love all of it. cool that avey and geo seem like their own splinter cell now with NPA and MotW. i still have no idea what coral orgy is. this is like when atiba song, oddsac and ttg and fbk were like almost better than mpp/tomboy etc (not down there).
what if like a few people got that puzzle and that's it, and like there's never another announcement or an album at all. it's just a conceptual non-release and like 2 years later we're still just waiting for something that never comes.
