The front cover with the way the two figures are slightly different gives it this really weird vibe of them being two beings standing there staring at you as opposed to just an abstract painting and this makes them remind me of the idea of self transforming machine elves, which is awesome.

Had a moment with this ep today. I drank a lil too much/got too lil sleep last night and woke up this morning feeling a lil blue because I'm always busy and only see my bedroom and the kitchen at my job. My ride could only take me in early because they were late for a meeting so I got dropped off two blocks away and had time to plug this into my ears. As I walked I got really emotional over how sunny and clear it was, almost to the point of tears. I passed by everyone on the street and felt very outside of everything, like the entire world was moving according to a script. I hadnt eaten breakfast yet so I stopped inside 711 and got a donut and some carrots. I sat down at a table I found by the university and basked in this ep/the sunshine and ate in peace before showing up late for work with no regrets.

thats so good. i know me meself have had quite a few experiences like that with acs music, and i hope a lot of people on the board have too, it seems like they have by the way they talk about them. its great to know that that kind of thing happens to other people too. i guess thats the byproduct of such personal expressive music

I will never forget walking ankle deep in a minor snowstorm from my friends house back to my apartment, playing strawberry jam (it's totally a summer record to me, but that second half is so snowy!)

ah man for sure, I love his stuff too. totally unique stylistic vision with these playful-colourful surrealistic images on white backgrounds. would love/be honoured to hang a big work of his up on my wall.

I love this ep and then there's avey's amazing new demos, the coral reef material that they played, and now the meeting with the waters ep!
I listed to this ep a few times this week and think it's pretty great release. i'm not a huge fan of the verses of goalkeeper, but the chorus is great. love the other songs. kinda bonkers is probably favorite from the whole era. if i were to rank these songs within the painting with and gnip gnip, hounds, they would fall pretty high.

Woah woah waoh, Avey's new demos? wut?
[edit] Oh are we referring to Visit the Dojo? I love it, but is there anything else he's released? Pretty sure Visit the Dojo is just an old previously unreleased Slasher Flick's jam.

Oh shit, thanks for letting me know. I was not aware of this. A full set of new songs? That's great!

They're pretty god tier jams. Like I am obsessed with them and think they're actually better than the song for Jerome era stuff that never got recorded aside from mountain game. Definitely seems to indicate Dave is feeling the slower stuff lately, even though there are several bangers in his new set, the slower stuff really stands out. Although the one we are calling "disc one" is what is really standing out the very most to me right now which is probably the most dancey song of the set.

- Niki Randa sings on 'Peacemaker'
- 'Kinda Bonkers' contains a sample of 'Mamma Mamma Pappa Pappa' written and performed by Cecily Kate Borthwick and Dilshad Hussain Khan

Did anyone notice that Avey Tare says "I'm a Man of Oil! Jesus Christ!" at 2:10 in "Kinda Bonkers"?? I wonder if Kinda Bonkers was (lyrically) composed whilst in the Amazon also.
