There have been a few year long breaks Nov 2007-2008, July 2011- June 2012, Feb 2015-Feb 2016 and after the Centipede tour they played a handful of one-off shows throughout 2014-2015 but the closest they've ever come to a break like this occurred well over a decade ago-- a 5 month break June 01-Nov 01 (Danse Manatee), Sept 02 -Feb 03 (Campfire/HCTI) and Nov 04-Apr 05 (Feels). But even then, they weren't exactly returning to the previous material after their breaks.
year-long break between November 2007 and November 2008? they played their first show after recording MPP in March 2008 in Japan. Not sure if you're talking about solo shows, but the last CHz shows happened in December 2013. don't know what you mean that "they weren't exactly returning to previous material" with regard to the Feels tour. look at any setlist from late 2004 to early 2005, they're still playing Feels stuff. only song that was added on that tour was Turn Into Something. other songs were edited or rearranged (Tikwid, Daffy Duck, Grass/Fickle Cycle). also, September 02 was still HCTI era. February 2003 was the first Sung Tongs show. 2001 was all Danse/Hollin stuff.
I highly doubt they'll have any new material beyond the songs that'll be on the EP. obviously they'll throw in some rearranged old songs. but they haven't worn out the PW era yet by any means.
