I don't think it's Panic. I think it's just random chanting aka business as usual for an AC show
yea i agree with this. i once heard a boot where the transition into natural selection sounded like runnin the round ball but that turned out to be a coincidence. this is probably a similar case
At mamby they did weird shit between every single song, shit I've not seen them do before or since. avey would scream nonsense and the music wasn't transitional, it was like small songs in between the main set
working on new jams perhaps in the AC tradition of writing on tour? Maybe those bits of the set are reworks of older jams? they did a part of panic the other night, and some other hcti jam a few shows ago.

From what I remember, that was true of the Bonnaroo 2013 show too.

haven't been blessed to see them before the two shows in chicago in this year, but the show at concord was markedly different from mamby in that concord seemed much more clinical and planned. at mamby they'd play a song, do about 4 minutes of non-transitional jamming feat. avey screaming very loudly, and then cold open the next song, which was, frankly, pretty incredible.
I'm excited to see the guys in Indianapolis tonight. After hearing some boots and checking out the setlists, I feel like it's all so close to perfect. I think that if they were to bring back one song from Strawberry Jam that it would really round out the setlist. Winter Wonderland or Cuckoo Cuckoo could really set up a Jeremy solo.
Bringing the zoom tonight for the Indianapolis show. Hoping to get a good bootleg. The venue couldn't tell me if it was allowed or not. Should I ask AC on Instagram? I will be with emceegreg in the VIP section to the right of the stage.

Is that what they were saying over and over after Bagels into Guy's Eyes? I had no idea what that was. It was pretty close to a full song almost. Jimmy Mack was such a highlight for me...was more to it than back in February, and I loved that ambient bit of Golden Gal.

You all who are going to these second leg shows are so lucky. I saw them in Nashville in May on the first leg, it was good, but it was nowhere near as robust as these current shows. They've noticeably grown into their set.
Thanks for putting the shows up everyone.
This South Dakota show in particular is bananas. So much more song stretching, extended transitions, added sounds and textures. This setlist is my favorite so far, so perfectly arranged. This was such a robust show. The sets on this leg are also noticeably longer.
Anyone from the first leg shows know what I'm talking about?
Anyone able to see shows from both tours?
I went to and recorded Chicago, Hawaii and Indianapolis.
The first leg was definitely tighter and more representative of the studio album in terms of pacing and now the songs are looser and transition and morph in new directions which is what always appeals to me when I think of Animal Collective Live.
One specific song example is that Golden Gal changed a bunch from Chicago to Indy (heck even Hawaii to Indy) and now has a Pulley's like spacey area in the middle.
The total recording was 1:46 for Indianapolis and the shows in Hawaii and Chicago clocked in at 1:31 so it appears this leg has roughly around 15 minutes extra (just from my recordings).
I loved all three shows but I have to say that the Indy show was extra special to me since its my hometown and I pretty much got the setlist I was dreaming for on this second part of tour. The Other One tease was a special bonus that I didn't even catch until I was EQing tonight and saw someone mentioned it on here. It's definitely a highlight and a show I will never forget.
Curious to see if the set will change or add anything new towards the end of November. They are playing a lot of Florida dates and it would be cool to see them stretch out and try some new things.
Nefarious Jay Pelino spoke to avey after the second set of the AC camping weekend and mentioned how the Golden Gal ambient jam was very similar to a Space > Drums..
I guess they got the message with this OTHER ONE tease..
I noticed that the Mr. Small's concert was sold out so I thought I would throw out there that I have an extra ticket. I got will call so we'd have to meet up at the venue. I've got about a three hour drive but I'll check for a message before I head out to the concert.
She's posted the same thing from another performance, I think it's just a quick lead in to Kids on Holiday, not quite a full song.
true but they did the same thing with lablakely dress/essplode into fireworks. they don't exactly quit improving on themselves and changing things up between each show.. by the end of this tour (excited to see them in dallas mid nov) it will all sound slightly different, that's the magic i love about them. like when there was the "roaming buffalo go" intro into 'what would i want sky.' there's no telling what could come next, which i guess is my point. not quite a full song...yet. fingers crossed.
ps-wasn't trying to step on toes, just felt like a good segue on my end to randomly post.
ugh i am not a big listener of those two records but i still shouldn't have gotten it wrong. google gives the wrong result probably because of the reissue?
