also i want to recognize the work that the AC team put into organizing, inviting/curating some incredible artists for support, and putting on what seems like two great sets (super hopeful about professional video/sound/some document of the weekend). i respect the approach they've taken and don't expect them to play campfire songs just becuase they're camping or whatever, just seems like some opportunities for different emphases

Those are awesome photos, Manzo. Thanks for sharing. Going to have some of mine up / rough video clips this week, but I'm going to collaborate with some other fans here to see if we can create a decent quality boot from all the video + multiple zoom tracks.

Had such a great time at this. What a wonderful crowd. Very grateful to the band, I honestly think they were at their tip top best. It really felt like they gave themselves permission to get really into it and try some new things. Avey flat out slayed on that Buchla during natural selection. Haven't heard him play it that expressively in any other boots from this tour.

Also very grateful to all the wonderful people I met. Reminded me of being in high school and seeing the band back when all my friends still loved them as much as I do.

i've been lurking on this board for like 8 years--just a lurky dude, I guess--but I finally registered to share my recording of Friday night in Big Sur. Some disclaimers: I was in the thick of the crowd near the front, so this probably won't be the best audio, and I won't have time to mess with this or cut it up, so it's just a big .wav right now. jfw7 or anyone else should feel free to edit and re-tag.

I saw a couple other dudes with zooms and there were mics at the stage and soundboard, so there will probably be some better quality recordings out at some point. I also opted to dance rather than record on night 2, so I'm looking forward to hearing that stuff from someone too. The weekend was beautiful, the vibes were so good, and the music was exceptional. I love this band so much and it was a real treat to be in Big Sur with 2 good friends that I went to shows with back in 2004.

On another note, I want to thank the members of this board who have contributed so much over the years--it's really kept me excited about animal collective in between shows, albums and tours. I've really gained a lot from lurking so I hope I can be a meaningful contributor too.

Good one y'all. I feel like lasting friendships were made. Shoutout to Camp 40, taking care of each other, sharing meals, stories, dancing and singing. Steak, bacon, eggs, pancakes, strawberry jam sandwiches. Ate like kings, enjoyed some good music and hiking!

Day 2 AC set starts out with the house music for about 40 minutes. It was so groovy I had to capture it. If anyone can help me with some of the tracks on there it would be great.

Please feel free to do anything with any of these files. Also, any feedback would be great. I've done this a little bit but it's a small time hobby and would love to learn more and get better.

I was pretty lazy with these recordings, I put the recorder towards the back and want up front to dance. There is definitely a bit of chatter that is capture.

Maybe I'm doing it wrong but the files are only a few seconds long besides two which are just talking and noise.

Ah the split version. I downloaded jfw7 link and all is clear now. I was thinking of doing this with my recording as well but it will take some time.

it does take time! i'm not doing it again for night 1. there are some girls+guys on the board who actually have an ear for this stuff and can improve the mix w/r/t stereo imaging, mix, compression, +c. i just did a simple hack job to get tracks split out.

Hey yeah they should all be up there. The file name should tell all. They are labeled with what the recording is. There is a long lead-in on them as I kind of just setup the recorder and left it.

cool! i see the big uploads now, i was worried there for a minute. watchen the debate but i will work on them later tonight or maybe tomorrow.

do you have the files available as something other than MP3? splitting mp3 without losing quality is possible but more work than working with WAV or whatever

They are in the middle of a tour... When were they going to practice 5 new songs on top of the 4 they already introduced for this leg? Also they totally performed the 5 repeats differently and each set had a totally different vibe. They were so on their game. Someone tried putting their fucking dog on the stage first night and I was just like "nope here is your dog back" but I think they were locals or some shit. >:(((
