I've only caught the Portland show, but thought it was pretty great. I thought PW was about a 7/-6.5 out of 10 and live I dug the songs even more. Abby is truly on point this tour as well. I'm going to be flying home in May to Atlanta and plan on catching the show there as well, really excited to compare the two.

D'oh! My bad, I thought I did. I'm rather stoned you see... :weed:

I completely agree about burglars, so many of the new tunes were so great live. And holy Abby Portner. I'm no photog but it was easy shooting that setup – good god.

Thanks man! And I agree: the only time I've been disappointed is when they had to cornpill an NYC show I was supposed to see in 2013!

I've only seen them once before, on the CHZ tour (also saw a PBVSGR show) and I thought this was way better. Lots of great energy, good setlist, the Painting With songs work really well live for the most part. Stuff like Lying in the Grass, The Burglars, Summing the Wretch really grooved.

Really loved this tour. Chicago was excellent. Only thing that could have made it better was to hear all the songs we didnt get that night, (gnip, vertical, spilling guts, bagels, etc)

Really love Jimmy Mack! Wonderful song and beautifully different than the original which is totally the boys style. :smoking:

This might've been the best I've seen them, Panda's vocals in particular were stellar the entire night

Loch Raven and Bees were absolutely stunning, the second half of Daily Routine was miraculous, and hearing Hounds of Bairro for the first time as they opened the set made me giddy

Mad props to Jeremy for the drums on this tour. not only does he add a ton of energy, I also think he's done a great job faithfully recreating the drum parts (at least fundamentally) while still retaining his distinctive style. a good example of this would be Daily Routine, where the main groove is definitely still there but then his fills during "pop a jump but not too hard" part add so much. also the drums on live versions of Hocus Pocus are so sick. I don't think there are many other drummers who could convincingly play all these songs all while keeping up with the jamming/improv aspect of the show

Man, really glad to see such positive consensus about the tour. Y'all are more or less echoing what I said in my review, which is that the PW songs are destined to be better live.

Totally agree about Jeremy, what's his story? I asked their publicist before I went to print with my article (in the OP), but he never got back.

definitely agree that jeremy is a great aspect of the shows... he was great when i saw him with Slasher Flicks too..

but ya this tour has been SO sweet. Caught the first night here in Philly and then what I think was the 4th show the first night in NYC... both were fantastic but especially the first show for going in fresh. amazing energy and visuals and I love the sets so so so much. made me really appreciate the album more, and as someone else mentioned, it helped me see the album in relation 2 the rest of their discog via the feels/spirit/mpp tracks.... also jimmy mack is great, and Gnip Gnop/Hounds are super amazing songs.. was cool seen 2 nights cuz i think I got to see all PW songs except maybe StW

and ya, all the new songs were so sick and they pulled them off so well and did great transitions, but the old songs were so freakin amazing too. New Loch Raven is prbly the most blissful ive heard them jsut abt... (also jimmy mack is super feel good) and the daily routine coda felt like DMT to me a little bit honestly. and the end of Alvin Row feels like a fucking rollercoaster of pure glee... those drums hits after "...for alvin" ^_;

but ya, this show definitely made my week and kinda my whole month... felt euphoric during it.. they were amazing in '12 in new orleans when i saw them but this was somehow even better.. thanks AC

I was lucky enough to see both nights at the Fonda in LA. I had only seen Panda live previously, and that was amazing, but these were by far the two best shows I've ever been to. I can honestly say I've never felt happier in my life than on the floor during those shows.

It sure looked like a lot of people were crying. You could definitely feel this incredible connection between everyone in the room. I couldn't even control myself, it was so emotional. And yeah, Loch Raven...... Mere words can't describe.

Saw them last night, It was good, some really really good moments (Alvin Row, The Burglars) but the sound was not that good, the instruments were too low so it lacked energy at time witch was kind of a bummer. Not as good as the first time I saw them (2013). But a good show without a doubt. I mean Alvin Row, was wonderful, and loch raven, woow. I am going to see them next week, don't know if the sound will be different.

ps : The transition were on point ! Loved those

Has anyone noticed that ? or I it just that show ?

The Fox Theater boot in Oakland is my favorite so far, especially for Hounds, Natural Selection and Loch Raven

i saw them at 9:30 last week and even though it was my first time seeing them (so i dont have the context from other tours or anything) i would definitely agree with what someone else said, you definitely shouldn't skip this tour if you don't like the songs from painting with. i had hardly listened to the album before the show and hearing so much of it live gave me a new appreciation for it afterwards
