All the lyrics on this album are fucking stunning, and honestly are just exactly what I need to hear right now.

More than enough people have expressed how beautiful this album is better than I could, but damn Deakin!!! I just gotta give my props to ya!! I am blown away how good this is. Your vocals are amazing.

Golden Chords is an amazingly beautiful little tune I can't believe didn't exist in my life until now. Thank you so much for killing it on this. And congrats!!!

All I can say now is... Keep it going! In the meantime, I'm gonna be jamming to this on repeat for months.

This is one of my favorite a/c releases ever. Incredibly moving and beautiful

Just Am is so amazing. got chills as i realized it was the first live deakin song that i heard. loved it then and love it even more now. All of this is fantastic, great atmosphere and it really goes a lot of places. kind of really heavy but soothing at the same time.. Footy kicked my ass in the best way possible and Good House is so soooooo good ...... brings me back to seeing it played live back in '10 in nola... love this so much. :)

Have to pipe in and agree that this album/ep is fucking great. Anyone else getting serious Slippi vibes from Footy? Even the names are slightly similar. But it's strange because I always wished Slippi was longer, and now we have a seven minute long similar track, that might even be better. Golden Chords really clicked for me on second listen; on the first I was like "This is nice, reminds me of Vashti Bunyan," on the second I was like "Wow, this is so pretty." And of course Good House is perfect, I don't think I've felt such potent feeling from any track in a while.

The way y'all are talking is making me so excited to hear this. Time & time again I've went back to the 2010 boots to try and hear the thing that seems to move so many people to be just so hungry for Deakin's music. Wide Eyed is 100% hands down my favorite AnCo song, at least a favorite modern jam; definitely the highlight of CHz & seeing it performed a few times on the CHz tour were highlights of those shows, but for whatever reason - the boots weren't doing it for me. Maybe the quality is just too low to really enjoy, or what.

But now you magnificent creatures(except those monsters at /chan)are making me so excited for Friday I can hardly take it.

Josh, if you're still lurking, I have a question for you that I'd love to hear a little about while I wait for this release: What is it like for you to hear Painting With? Obviously there's no maliciousness in Geo, Avey, & Panda recording that record without you (I even feel weird writing it that way) because obviously you're busy putting together what, I'll hear on Friday, is the best music ever (can't wait!) so like, no malcontent.

Let me frame this in a different way: especially after you wrote your post about people saying awful things about those guys, I had this moment where I realized that you & I have very different relationships with Geo, Avey, & Panda ... so what is it like for you to listen to their music? Were you involved in the recording process? Did they send you studio takes? Didja ever get to hang out at a session?

I'm just trying to imagine what it would be like if my creative friends & I were at the same level in our careers as you guys and I can't even fathom what that relationship would be like.

Could you talk a bit about that?

PS: congrats on finally getting the thing out. Seems like taking your time was worth it, and I can't wait to hear it myself.

Also, new press release says that Tim Dewit from Gang Gang Dance plays drums on Footy, and our very own beloved sonic pete mixed Good House

Pretty good video. Definitely one of AC's best. Kept the concepts and effects simple throughout

The imagery (swimming pools, woods, a lone boy, and trickling water) actually reminds me a lot of what I picture when I listen to Banshee Beat, which is probably the one AC song that this batch of songs seems most related to

^agree. It's a very different sound than I'm sure any of us are used to, but if I had to relate it to an AC album, it'd be feels

as an annoying archivist type question, is the release actually by "DEAKIN" with all caps for the titles and so on? at least there's no alternate -ken/-con/-kin confusion by this point

advantage of bandcamp is that you can download in hq formats like flac, ogg vorbis etc
disadvantage is that sometimes that's just upscaled mp3 so who knows

another advantage of bandcamp is that (afaik) more of the money goes directly to the artist than on itunes or spotify
