The hocketing is handled so nicely on the chorus of this song. I think the dive bombs are my fav part tho.

Hearing the opening sample about dinosaurs coming on right after FloriDada never fails to brighten my mood, especially if I'm driving

And replacing the second verse with the dive bombs is pretty genius

One of my faves. Has this sort of dark, sinister sort of sound to it reminiscent of Crosswords live. Also think the hocketing works best on the LP here. And the dragging beat is a great mood-setter. Think is the perfect foil to FloriDada's high octane welcome.

For John we thought it would be cool to play his viola on a song because we heard it as a stringy kind of sound. He plays on "Hocus Pocus" in the chorus-y parts and the end, and he's sort of in the outro that leads into "Vertical", the next song.

But he had the insight that he didn't think it was going to sound very good tuning-wise and pitch-wise - the song's in F and he thought the viola was going to sound strange. He was right. So he did a bunch of other stuff and we affected it all together in the studio.

it does kinda work in that sense since he uses the word "legalize". feel like its a more universal messag than just that but it totally serves that purpose. and i think we can assume ac's stance on the issue..
