Really tho. MPP should have been a live album. Sounds better/makes sense conceptually. Yeah I'm still not over it f u
You're kinda right. There are some pretty cool things about the album, but in general they don't compare to the live experience. I'd love it if the band would release a live album of a 2007 or a late 2009 show on vinyl like they did with 9:30. That way people advocating for the rawness of the concert experience and those craving the soupy studio versions could both be satisfied

I would really love a 08 live album. that would be really awesome. Guys Eyes studio is def one of my favorite AC related things. Was never THAT into the live version. The live Panda solo version though! Oh man.

this is off topic, but having never delved into many boots and since y'all already discussing, what is the one absolute, essential, best quality MPP era live boot that I should check out? feel free to crunchitize me if ya want

From the samples I'm most excited to hear Spilling Guts. My interest in the other songs always change and some songs switch positions in which I'm excited most for but spilling guts has always stayed number one. I don't know what it is about it. It's a great groove especially with those bending notes
fucking love spilling guts.
those stabby notes. the whole song is built around em and it works amazingly. craving it badly.

'09 Glastonbury (best WWIWS)

I dont think Deakins lp is ready yet .....
He has a really sick set of songs though ......some stunning stuff ....
Reminded me of Nirvana , soft cell , 13th floor elevators & skip spence ( one if Noah's faves)
All recording is done & i think he has a bit of mixing to do , but i know he has it all on
the boil & ready to finally give out .....a book too i believe ....
Looks like a full year ...

One more question to Sonic if you're able to answer it, do you know if there are any plans for deakin to tour solo or with the band this year?

I wish I could find that clip of Chris Ott talking shit about Deakin stealing the Kickstarter money to buy a gold watch. That was hilarious.

I remember that too. It was at the end of one of those Shallow Rewards videos. Those Shallow Rewards videos are amazing honestly, gives a really amazing perspective on where certain sounds and music comes from mixed in with his anecdotes. Speaking of Sonic Boom in this thread, here's a cool vid on his former band Spacemen 3 covering a song.

Ironically it's one of my favorite videos by him because it goes into Highlife music and Talking Heads and Vampire Weekend.
