I'm soooo happy they're booking smaller shows again. They're gonna sell out crazy fast but the shows are gonna be super intense.

I've seen a couple people mention that they're playing at some smaller, more intimate venues this time around, and I wonder if that's telling at all of their setup this time around. It will probably be something a bit more minimal than what they had for the CHz shows.

Yeah, I think it totally goes with the more immediate/less distant vibe they're going for in their music.
I'm seriously considering driving back to AR because, unless they've renovated it, that venue is so small. I was inches from Jenny Lewis when I saw her. The stage is barely even raised!

I don't really want it to freebird... especially considering I'm seeing them live on the opening date of the tour, on the day the album is released.... I may just wait to listen to it on the day it officially comes out to maximize the experience

I'm holding myself over by listening to some other new music, like I just stumbled upon the xx and Jamie xx solo album so that'll keep me busy for a week or two. then rinse and repeat

Really happy we got the freebird filter back from the MPP days.
I still refer to pitchfork as youtube comments section.

^same lol
for a while it was hard for me to think of pm as private message cause i would always see it as punch me in the groin because of the fbk freebird lol
i think my favorite filters tho were animal collective / anco -> AFI and avey -> daveyhavok, that was right around the time i joined and i was so confused lol

Took me a sec to figure out what was going on here. Was wondering if my millenials/snake people chrome extension was doing it.

Is the pre-sale over? I may have misinterpreted when they went on sale
Edit: I think I'm ok, haha. Man after I couldn't get any tix to the GD50 shows I am so paranoid about shows I wanna go to. That weekend scarred me. Hopefully the scalpers and scenester yuppies don't get to these AC tix before I do!

Boom! Locked in Chi tix with the Vertical sample playing in the background like a boss. AH so psyched! 2016 is kicking some pretty serious ass already, haha. Honestly I'm surprised they are doing a Chicago show that isn't Pitchfork. Is it possible for them to still do it? I know most fests don't want you playing in the area for a certain amount of time leading up to the fest. This show is about 5 months before Pitchfork. I'd way rather see them do their own show, but it is always nice to see them outside

Got my Chi tix too!!!
I was at the Riv last time and I didn't mind it since I was in the balcony. However, the way Concord is set up with its bathrooms, it always becomes a clusterfuck at sold out shows with people always moving around during the show. Wish they were playing Thalia Hall instead

I really enjoyed that Riv show. The dudes killed it that night. I've never been to Concord before but my friends have told me similarly that it's layout is shitty for packed shows. oh well.

The only thing that upsets me about the chicago show is that the congress isn't open anymore. That venue was a fucking hole, but in the best way possible. I saw many a hardcore show there. I can just imagine AnCo going crazy in that fucked up venue and how the shitty acoustics and giant sinkhole in the floor would've made them sound even weirder.
Chicago lads, anyone down for a nandos prior to show? I'm gonna get there super super early, I'm thinking a cheeky nandos around 1130 and then head to the venue to camp for the front row

I went to the early days of riot fest shows they used to have there, and saw bad religion there a handful of times and the dead milkmen once. It was the coolest venue in the city. The fucking sinkhole.
