It's a shame for the guys that the samples are out there I reckon.

That's Panda Bear. I was hopeful with that album. AC has become so cluttered. No room for the vocals to even breath. Crammed. Damn. Don't do the samples. My brain is a mess.

all their recent projects have been more pop focused it seems, but that doesn't mean they're done with more freeform stuff

it's not like making their "ramones" album is a path they can't return from

i'm wondering if making a pop album is in any way a career choice for them. geo and panda both have families to think about and it might be in their best interest to explore a sound that might be more commercially successful. returning to their more experimental routes might be risky if this is their main source of income. this is obviously just speculation, just something i was thinking about

all i can say is that the songs are more up-beat and kind of happy but still loaded with synths and crazy sounds.

I listened to the samples and got super excited, alas I was honestly pretty damn baked so I don't remember what most of them distinctly sounded like.

Same here about the patience, I haven't listened to the samples and don't plan on it (not judging those who do of course). Really surprised considering I went full all-in on every PBVSGR snippet. I guess this one feels so close, that I can wait until the time is right to sit back, with the home stereo, lights off, and get

I am impressed that I did not listen to those samples. I will probably tho, but now I don't feel the need, I have my daily Floridada listening which is always cool, never disapointed.
But like someone else said, I don't know how they are going to pull that of live.

Caved and listened to the samples twice and after the second listen, I think this album is half avey, half panda writing. These songs sound like new territory for AC. Definitely digging all of them.

got it at Other Music back when the album came out - it's one of the windowfront ones that's meant to have a lightbox behind it. it's heavy duty and pretty huge - the actual album cover is 26"x26". the black space is 2" above, 3" below, 6.5" on the left, and 5.5" on the right. the right is where it was cut, so it's a bit uneven there.

Samples were samey from a sound palette POV and mostly quite busy but I wouldn't say especially commercial or accessible. They gave me the old feeling I has when I first listened to AC, where there was so much going on, melodically, and I had to let the songs sketch themselves in my mind before I really got swept along by the melodies. Not busy in terms of production clutter, so two really good things to report.

I think that's just the quality of the preview stream. If you listen to the preview for Floridada on amazon its also not very good quality

Yea I'm 100% sure these are phone recordings unless someone wants to send me what they think is a direct stream. But what I'm hearing is not. You can actually hear them turn the speakers volume up at the beginning of floridada
